The paracord necklace is of very high quality and I like it a lot. If I had to be picky, the clasp could be the next bigger size (but the one that is used is more than sufficient). One more issue, and this isn't a problem with the sellers product it's just inherent with paracord, is that it does seem to randomly pull at the hairs on my neck. Again that's just a problem with paracord in general I guess. I know it's hard to guess what size you will need but I wear a size 18-19 dress shirt and I went with the XL 24 inch size. The XL size fits very well.

686 Men's Original Snow Tool Belt Review

This is my second 686 toolbelt. I bought a black one and now this brown one. Honestly I got it because it had the bottle opener, though the other tools are cool and work great. All of the tools come off of the belt and can actually be used.

I have a 34" waist and the L is perfect. I'm on the middle of 5 holes.

This is the size chart I can find on some retailers sites [S/M (26-34) and L/XL (32-40)] but the page here has 3 sizes.

I've bought 3 of these belts and they've all been well-used. I like the first one so much that I had a new black leather belt custom cut to go with the original buckle hardware.

The toolbelt has a utilitarian design which says, "I'm always prepared". While 686 designed this belt for snowboarders, to adjust their bindings out on the slopes, the tools they included are great for many hobbies. The Phillips #2 driver works perfectly for most screws in a computer, and the wrenches seem appropriate for a bike enthusiast.

The width of the belt completely fills my belt-loops on my jeans, which is ideal. Most belts leave some room to spare, which doesn't look quite as nice.

PRO:

*Tools: Flathead and Phillips #2 screwdrivers, Wrenches, Bottle Opener

*Tools are pretty durable.

*Great utilitarian look. Fills belt-loops on jeans or snowpants completely.

*Cool discussion piece.

CON:

*Leather stain _will_ bleed when wet. The belt is advertised as being waterproof, intended for wintersports, so this is a design flaw. Also, the stain is only surface-deep, so if you clip accessories (cellphone, ID, keys, radio, waterbottle) to your belt, it will develop scratches that reveal the leather color below the stain.

*Leather hardens when wet, true of all leather goods. The 686 Toolbelt is no exception. However, because the belt is advertised as being weatherproof, I had expected better performance. This is not the case. Should your Toolbelt become wet, the leather will stiffen a bit. You'll need to apply some leather moisturizer to return it to softness.

*Hardware finish is prone to scratching. The buckle hardware and tools are either nickle-plated or painted black. After you use them a bit, the finish will wear, exposing the metal core. While this is normal for a belt-buckle, plating or painting real tools is much less common. The nickle finish and brass/bronze core both will tarnish when exposed to sweat. Metal cleaners (acetone, kerosene, Hoppes #9, BreakFree CLP, MEK) will remove this tarnish. Clear-coat it to prevent tarnishing.

Despite those criticisms, I still highly recommend this belt.

This belt was neat at first, but its one feature I used consistently—the bottle opener—started to wear down and get rounded off quite quickly, and is now barely usable. I guess it's nice to have screwdrivers if you need them, but I usually have a Leatherman around for that.

I bought this belt not sure if I'd ever actually use it as anything more than something to hold my pants up, but after one of my bindings coming loose on a snowboarding trip last winter, I can say that this belt is as functional at tightening loose fasteners as it is at holding one's pants around their waist.

I really like the Icebreaker Seeker pants. The material is an all-natural merino wool and cotton twill that is sturdy yet lightweight. Plus, unlike most wool fabrics, it's machine washable. The cut is more tailored than jeans or khakis but slightly more casual than dress pants. They are very comfortable to wear and are especially suited for travel because the fabric is very compressible.

There are two things to keep in mind, though. First, I wouldn't use these pants for hiking or other strenuous outdoor activities due to the tailored fit. There isn't enough freedom of movement for active use, particularly in the upper legs. Second, anyone who has a longish inseam should take a look at the reviews on the Icebreaker website. Some buyers there have found the "one inseam fits all" design to be too short.

Bottom line: a good looking, well made, very comfortable pair of pants. Four stars.

The design and quality of this foot pedal is absolutely terrible. It failed to work right after two months of use. It started with junk getting in around the contacts. OK, made sure I watched that. Then the contacts wouldn't make complete contact anymore so I had to stomp on the pedal to get it to turn or, better yet, it wouldn't stop turning. Awesome! That's exactly what you want to do when you're out fishing is fight with your trolling motor, right? Especially if you're in a tournament or on a fishing trip. This would be unacceptable from a unknown company with a low price product let alone something high price from a "reputable" company. Now I see it's $75 $100 to replace it with another piece of junk. I'm completely disgusted with the whole thing. I should have went with my gut and bought the cable controlled trolling motor.

I bought a nice boat(Princecraft)from a guy at work. Been boatless for about 5 years. Came with a Powerdrive 55 V2 Minn Kota. The pedal is very finicky. Mostly the right turn part of switch, but momentary on is also iffy. I asked old owner about it, he said I should get a new foot pedal, and use this as a backup. Started my research. Not really good news on reviews for this product. I took the unit apart to see about lube and cleaning. Contact points are sealed in cicuit board, and non accessable. More bad news, I am an industrial electrician, and am not impressed at all. I may try and invent something for this, as I don't want to have to buy one every season. Minn Kota should build something more reliable, shame on them. They probably like selling so many of these things as extra's, year by year. Too Bad for the consumers, who love to fish!

First of all there is nothing wrong with this t-shirt. It is a typical Life is Good shirt and arrived promptly and in good condition. My issue is that when checking for the sizing I clicked the sizing tab displayed next to this shirt on Amazon and this is inaccurate for this t-shirt meaning yes I ordered a t-shirt smaller than I wanted. As I have a younger child I just will have him wear it but just want to let buyers and Amazon know this is a problem. I think as a safety check when purchasing products going to a site where they sell just that item if you can find it would be a good idea. So as a consumer I am bummed but hate the hassle of returning things.

I just took 3, 40 mile rides this past week wearing the Pearl Isumi Elite Thermal Barrier Jacket. Temperatures ranged from 37 to 61F. It performed very nicely. The front of the jacket has a fairly wind proof material with a fleece like backing. The back is fleece backed spandex like material. The sides and backs of the arms are also fleece backed spandex. It breaths very nice, yet does a decent job keeping the cold wind from chilling your core. With the right base layer, you might be able to go lower than 37 degrees, but this jacket might be a bit too ventilated for 20 degree weather. I thought this jacket was a bit over priced. The quality is ok, but lacks a hem cord and sleeve adjustments.

I had spent a long time reviewing jackets that were both wind and water proof and this ended up being my choice. It is a tighter fit but loose enough to fit some base layers under it. It felt quite thin when I had received it but don't let that deceive you. The jacket has kept me rather warm with a thin baselayer under it in sub freezing weather. Highly recommended. And buy a size bigger than you normally would, I usually wear a small but a medium is what I ended up with for this jacket.

I generally like all of Pearl Izumi's products. Overall, this is a nice jacket, but I have a few complaints.

The inner arm material (the black stripe) is not wind proof. The wind rips right through it and leaves the inner half of each arm chilled. I'm sure its a great vent in the spring/fall, but this is a big problem for winter riding.

Arm Motion jacket is designed for a forward reaching / riding position. It fits nicely when I'm on the hoods or in the drops. However, it constricts any backward reaching motion. I feel like I'm going to rip the jacket whenever I try to reach behind me and put something in the back pockets.

I would give it 4/5 stars if it was called "crisp fall weather jacket" (I felt a mislead by the "thermal barrier" name).

This is a great jacket for cool weather bicycling. I use it in 50-70F weather with just a wicking T-shirt underneath; down to freezing with a thermal base layer. The front of the jacket body and front of the sleeves have a windproof shell to minimize your windchill (works better than a wind vest that only covers the front of your torso). The back of the body and sleeves are are highly breathable to keep you from overheating on the climbs. The entire jacket is lined with a light fleece. The jacket has 2 zippered pockets in back to hold your valuables and some food.

I'm not a fan of layering when bicycling since multiple layers reduce breathability and limit your temperature comfort range. This jacket with a base layer have a noticeably wider comfort range than the base layer + jersey + wind shell that I used to wear. Because of the breathable back, this jacket is not as rain resistant as a wind shell, though.

Fit is on the relaxed side, like all the rest of Pearl Izumi's "elite" product line. If you're a little overweight, this jacket should fit you fine. If you're in race shape, try Pearl Izumi's "pro" product line instead for a form fit.

The front windblocker fabric does not stretch like the softshell fabrics used in more expensive bicycling jackets, so sizing is less forgiving. Try it on before you buy to make sure you get the right size.

I bought the neon green color because it was cheapest (half price). The color is bright enough to catch the attention of car drivers, especially in urban areas where nothing is green.

I'm amazed at how warm this jacket is, yet it's so light and flexible. However, I often found myself wishing that it was vented. When riding in 35° 45° this jacket is almost too warm once my core temperature came up. The wind-blocking properties of this jacket simply don't allow it to breath.

Don't let the lack of venting sway you away from this jacket, there are plenty of other things to like:

Construction and finish are top-notch

Rugged, easy to grip (with gloves) zippers

Zippered pockets

Fits perfectly

I was a little hesitant purchasing a product with no reviews, but I decided to go through with it.

All around, this is a great purchase. The bag is made very nicely, with great stitching. Much sturdier than I was expecting.

However there is no metal button closure, as the description states. The black strap simply wraps around the front and provides plenty of support to keep the tablet in place. I actually like it better this way, as there is nothing to accidentally scratch the tablet with.

I wanted to stay away from bulky plastics, and this fit the bill nicely. At this price, you can't go wrong.

Other sites have this product listed under motorcycle gloves. These are NOT motorcycle gloves. They are full neoprene with a LITTLE BIT of extra padding on the knuckles. They'd be better than nothing if you went down on the road (motorcycle or bike). But I wouldn't want to test it. They are pretty warm though.

These are very warm gloves. Very very well made, barely show signs of wear, no tearing or seam stretching. Probably the best I've found for warm and dexterity. I use them for motorcycle riding in the winter, they block the wind pretty wellin addition to snowboarding gloves, I don't have to take them off each time I want to adjust a binding. So, 6 out of 5 stars.

Update......9/18/13

I just returned from Crystal River Florida where I wore these for a scalloping trip. They worked wonderfully with my Tusa fins and were great walking on the bottom as well as in the boat. I wore them in and out of the water on the boat for almost 2 solid days. Very pleased and show no wear. Sizing in an 11 was perfect for me.

First impressions......

I haven't had a chance to use them, but they seem well made. Good warm water boot and I have little doubt they will last. The hight is perfect with my fins. I tried the Oniell reactor first and it was just too low cut.

I'm more writing this concerning sizing. Everyone says they run big, so wearing a 12 wide or 13, I ordered on the smaller end at a 12. They were still a full size too large. I swapped them for an 11 and they fit like a glove.

I read all the reviews and was hesitant to heed the warning 100% but I did end up ordering the shoes a 1/2 size larger than I normally wear. I JUST received the shoes right now and put them on... they fit really tight even for being a 1/2 a size larger than I usually wear. I own a pair of Circas and Vans, both that are 11 and fit perfect. These 11.5 DCs are too tight around the foot.

I would do like other reviews say, ORDER A SIZE LARGER.

These shoes should really come with a warning.

Aside from that, they look good.

As a skilled veteran skateboarder, I've had a lot of experience with different skate shoes but this time was particularly interesting because these are my first pair of shoes I've ordered online and my first pair of DC's. DC always has that stigma of being a poser company but that I think majority of that comes from anti-fanboy skaters. Shoes are shoes for the most part.

I think as shoes, they do complete their purpose of protecting my feet and gripping my board surprising well. Aesthetically I think they are great looking. A hip skate shoe that doesn't blast that DC logo all over the shoe like grafitti.

Very important note as my title suggests; one reviewer added to order a size larger than normal because they do run small. They were right!

I'm more than happy with this purchase, for the money, for the aesthetics, they were a hit for me.

I cycle commute to and from work each day, and I make it a point to be highly visible. In addition to rear LED lights, and a strobe light in the front, I use this on my helmet. The beauty of this cover, is that it gives you 'high-up' visibility, when cycling past parked cars, or cars at a traffic light. Opposing traffic and drivers can see you over the tops of cars (alas not SUV's).

There is a handy little flap that you can fold down as a brim. The only caution I have is that this is a very large cover and is really only suitable for a very large helmet. This is not an issue for me, since I wear 7 5/8 hats, but for those with smaller helmets it will be baggy, and have to be pinned or taken in somehow.

As another reviewer said, this is a "large" helmet cover! I have a Giro Xen helmet that came with its own visor, which all other covers I tried would not fit. Even if I took the Xen visor off, it was still doubtful if some of those covers would work. The Pearl Izumi cover fits with a little room to spare. And since the Izumi also comes with its own cloth visor, I simply tucked its visor around and in between my helmet and its visor (this will be self explanatory if you have the same or similar helmet and buy this cover).

One thing I wondered about when I bought this P.R.O. Series WxB cover was whether or not, being somewhat "hair challenged," it would help keep my head warmer in Michigan's colder seasons. It does help a little, but I still need to wear a thin stocking type cap under my helmet to keep the cool breezes off my pate. The tag that comes with the cover says it provides "waterproof, breathable protection." It does not claim to provide "thermal" protection and keep one's head warm. The label on the back of the cover says the "WxB" in the label description means "waterproof and breathable." If you need warmth, the company suggests either their "P.R.O. Thermal" or "softshell" cover.

Plus I appreciate the bright yellow color -a safety / visibility factor that I was looking for.

I've used this twice since receiving it. It's reall a nice cover I wear a large giro atmos helmet and it easily fits over it. It has been cool and it seems to keep my head warmer. I ride in the dark mostly and it is very visible which is a bonus. Very happy with it.
