Once the band is changed it is a great, comfortable watch. It is a decent sized watch for a 7 inch wrist. Second hand lines up perfectly. Bezel ring rotates very smoothly and is nice and snug with no play. It is the about the same dimensions of my Tag Heuer Aqua Racer. My wife would not let me change the metal band on my tag for a rubber one, so I bought this inexpensive watch instead. If you are thinking about getting the Casio Mako(cheap feeling, lots of play in the bezel ring), I will say that this is a much higher quality watch for just a little bit more. This is in the same league as my Seiko Pepsi Diver with regards to quality. Even though it says Pulsar on it, it might as well be a Seiko. Seikos are some of the highest quality inexpensive watches. The Lume is as bright as my Seiko Divers watch was. The crystal is slightly recessed, which is nice. Nice clean face and hands with similar styling to the seiko divers watches. The watch is very comfortable on the wristit rests nicely without a lot of jiggling around on the wrist, which is nice.

Downsides? Nothing is perfect. I was going to try to endure the strap that came on the watch. I lasted about an hour before I ran out to the local watch store for a replacement. The stock strap actually made red indentations into my wrist. It is sharp and cruel. Hence the four star rating. The new strap fixed all of that. I bought a nice black rubber strap with white stitching that makes the watch look more expensive than it is. The only real down side is the strap.

If I wanted to be really picky I could complain about the lack of a 200 meter rating, but I only swim on the top 1 meter of the water, usually. Or I could nitpick that does not have a screw down crown, or that the crown is not fancy. The bezel ring does not have a clearly identifiable marker at the 12 o'clock positionthe 12 o'clock position looks almost the same as 3, 6 and 9 . The back of the watch is flat and unimpressive. But who looks at the back of a watch? The watch might not be as finished as my Tag Heuer, but it is good for the price.

The only other potential down side is that this watch was probably manufactured in 2006, which was about 5 years ago. So either the battery is going to be dead real soon, or else they already replaced the battery.

I think that the price reduction is probably because they have a lot on hand. Many people have probably bought ecodrive watches instead. Would I have liked the fancier Citizen ecodrive instead? Yes, but not for more. If this lasts me 4 years before I am sick of it then I will have gotten my money's worth.

Overall great knock around watch. Just don't bother at all with the strapplan on changing it right away.

Seiko owns Pulsar, this is a Seiko watch for all intents and purposes. Some complain about the bandnot sure what they are complaining about. I find the band to be excellent. It keeps the watch square on the wrist, doesn't pull hair and has a huge amount of adjustment. The watch is built like a tank and the craftsmanship is top notchright up there with Citizen. The only downfall of this watch is no screw-down crown but I have water tested it and it did not leak one bit. The unidirectional bezel is tight and smooth. The size is perfect toonot huge and gaudy like some out there but not womens size like those smaller field watches. It is around 41mm. The lume is out of this world, it will light up a small patch of wall in the dark fully charged. At $65 it is probably the bargain of diving watches on amazon but I picked up one pre-owned in mint condition on ebay for $39 with boxes and papers. Not much else to say, this watch is an excellent value and being built by Seiko with a Seiko japanese movement inside there aren't too many bang for the buck watches out there that even come close to the quality of this Pulsar. Finally, the amazon specifications list the band width as 22mm which is inaccurate. The width of the band is 20mm. Also, it says the model year is 2006 which could confuse some. My watch was built in January of 2011 per the serial number on the back of the watch. The first number represents year of the decade watch was built and second number represents the month with the letters N and D signifying November and December.

I got this one for my friend. Looks kind of "manly", the dial is big and you actually feel it on your hand. A good choice indeed. This model is actually a modified version of another model(#PF3293) by the same company which is priced at about $90. Needless to say that the other one is much more stylish but then this model saved you about 40 bucks and comes with just a little compromise on that guys kinda casual-flair.

I would say this watch is certainly worth its price. So, go for it if you are running tight on your budget but if you can spare another $40 the other model is definitely a better choice. Someone else talked about the flimsy strap, I have'nt really had any problems with that.

I do not like to submit reviews until I have lived with the item for a while. Need to make an exception. The product description states that the band width is 22mm..INCORRECT..The correct band width is 20mm. Know this for a fact. The watch arrived today and I had planned to change out the rubber band with a black nylon Zulu band. Lucky I had both a 22mm and a 20mm. 22mm is to wide and causes the Zulu to pucker badly. 20mm fits perfect. Makes a difference if someone is also ordering a different replacement band (Zulu ect.)at the same time expecting it to fit. This needs to be updated on the product description. Will submit a review on the watch after I live with it for a while.

Well I have lived with this watch for awhile now and here are some further thoughts.. Nice size on this watch, not over sized which seems to be a current fashion trend. Solid feel and a very comfortable weight. Bezel rotation is solid and easy. Illumination on the watch face is pretty good and last as long as some of the more expensive watches I have. The watch face is very easy to read and the date window is easy to read...Now for the couple of short comings I have found..The bezel has no illumination at all. Most bezels have a dot at 12 position. This watch has none which means the bezel in low light is pretty useless. Not sure what the thought process was on this decision.

I cannot figure out what they were thinking when they decided to put THE WORST BAND EVER on this watch. $2 watches come with better bands than this watch has. Not only is it uncomfortable but really cheap looking. Does not fit the watch well and seems to almost be an afterthought. First thing I did was throw away the original band and put a 20mm black Zulu band on. All in all I really like this watch now. Handsome, solid watch once the band was changed out. Great kick around watch even with the extra cost of changing out the band.

The watch itself is really nice. The body seems like it is rugged and tough. The rotating bezel is also smoothe. The only reason i give this a 4 is because of the rubber, flimsy strap.

I have been wearing Pearl Izumi jerseys for years now. This is a good midweight Jersey with a brushed interior and smooth exterior. Sleeves are cut a bit narrower which offers more effective thermal comfort. Jerseys with sleeves that are too loose (esp in the wrist-forearm region) permit uncomfortable drafts to circulate during colder rides. Also, compared to other brands, Pearl Izumi long sleeve jerseys are known for longer arm lengths-proper for cycling-which makes for a much better fit. In the moderate price range, I usually don't even buy other brands anymore.

I looked at the sizing information and figured the X-Large would be ok....wrong, too tight.

Sizing chart says an X-Large is for chest: 46-48 and waist: 40-42. That would be me at 6'2" and 220 pounds. The jersey is skin tight and my man boobs and belly are displayed in a rather unflattering way.

If you have a nice abdominal 6-pack then follow the sizing chart, you'll look great. Regular folk, bump it up a size.

I got the XL size of this product. It's my first running sock. They do better then some UA running socks I got.

I'd have liked them to hold up a little better. I have worn them several times a week and so perhaps it's not a fair assessment since i'm not giving the fibers a chance to tighten up again after each use.

Options for size 15 are pretty slim if you want below the ankle style running socks.

The NS2 is an upgraded version of New Balance's previous coolmax sock, which I have worn for several years. I am in the normal height / weight range, wear a size 10.5D NB shoe and buy the large size of this sock. The NS2 has more elastic in the arch area than the previous coolmax sock and the cushioning is about the same thickness but maybe a little firmer. The socks will last a very long time, I have never worn holes thru the sock. I do hang to dry which preserves the like new softness of the material. The NB coolmax sock is the best synthetic sock that I have used. Cotton socks can feel good at first but once your feet perspire or the socks get wet, they are useless to protect your feet.

Expect a very cushioned fit from these running socks. The top of the sock is thin, but the toebox, sole and heel are all well padded. I generally run wearing a thinner sock, but these have worked well for times I want a bit more cushioning. They are well designed, and I haven't had any chaffing issues while wearing them. They wick away moisture effectively.

It's too small because there's nothing to put on. My packaging feedback, that I did NOT receive it, is ignored. I bought these socks in hopes that they would keep my feet dry. I am a caver, and bought these from a caving web site. I came out with my feet soaking wet and not from sweat, I wasn't hot at all. I bought the gloves also and I felt the water seeping in as soon as I put my hands in water. I don't know how they can claim what they do as these just plain don't work.

I contacted SealSkinz 3 days ago, I wrote them the next day also. I still haven't heard anything from them. Their web site said to 'please allow them 2 days'. These are guaranteed waterproof. So, I guess their customer service is moot also.

I wear a size 8.5 shoe and I needed the XL sock. The rest squexed the toes too much and were unwearable. I use these socks on my backpacking adventures into the deep dence alabama swamp. Wet feet lead to trench foot. With cotton or wool socks they do not dry well leading to blisters. Wet socks create more friction and are heavy.

Also the seal skin makes a great moccason. You don't need to carry crocks. Although I recomend being careful not to punch a hole in the goretex it is safe to walk around camp in these as long as you watch your step and avoid sharp rocks or 45 angle machete cut sticks. These are very adaquite for camp lounging. I don't like wearing boots when I don't have to. These work on frozen ground as well although you do feel some of the chill. But it is so light because they are your socks and you don't need crocks. This saves weight. I likee.

In conclusion I've walked 17 miles in mine and no blisters. It is safe to say this is an awesome backpacking sock.

I have had water up to my waist and no leaks.

You get what you pay for! You get the UBER SOCK!

This sock is thick enough so that you don't need gators. You don't feel the prickleys on your calves and ankles when you wear these. Once agian this saves weight.

They are worth the price. I have 2 pair and luv um. :)

Best Deals for Water Blocker Sock

I ordered this sock with the special cuff but all I got was the regular waterproof sock from Big Edge, which I already have. I can always use another pair of the regular waterproof sock, but it certainly doesn't give you the water seal promised by the product that I had ordered. I noticed that Big Edge was gracious enough to mis-label their the packaging, going right over the original label, although the top of the package clearly says "all season socks". The cuff seal is not there, so if you ordered the sock with a cuff seal and then were sent the wrong thing, you might have a water leakage problem. Since both the regular all seasonwaterproof sock and the SealSkinz with the In Cuff Seal in fact have a cuff, you could be misled into thinking that you have the one with the waterproof cuff. So, buyer beware. I'll keep the socks, as I said I can always use them, but it was disappointing to get the wrong one. Do NOT use Big Edge. The three stars I am giving is really a combination of 1 star for Big Edge and 5 stars for the regular sock (sans In Cuff Seal).

I purchased a pair of these to go under the trail runners I use to hike. They keep water out and seal well at the top. They are also good for layering with other, insulating socks for winter hiking.

You should note, though, that no product will keep your feet dry if they are continually submerged because you perspire (sweat) even if you are not hot, and this water cant evaporate through the membrane if your feet are submerged. This is true of Gortex, seal skinz, and everything else, including boots.

You should also note that if you step in cold water with little insulation, you may feel instantly "wet" simply from the cold.

These perform as well as possible and will exceed any reasonable expectations.

I purchased the SealSkinz socks and gloves to keep my feet warm during Whitewater rafting. I have a condition where my fingers and toes get very cold -to the point of numbness and turning white. I used the socks with wet suit booties on over them. My feet stayed dry and warm all day, with constant water splashing on them.

The gloves, on the other hand (no pun intended!), after a while started to allow water to seep in. But I think they would have worked if I had a wet suit glove on over them.

I was very happy to receive the tights so quickly and almost exactly as I expected them. When I first tried them on I realized (as a person who is only 5'1, 5'2 on a good day) that because I needed an extra large (because PI tights usually fit very tight) that they are very long in all the wrong places. So I have been forced to bunch the excess down to the bottom and hope that I may get them hemmed to fit correctly. However as long as I wear them this way they fit really well and are incredibly comfortable. I was out in 40 degree weather and they felt great. Everything is perfect about this pants except for the height problem.
