This was very disappointing. I bought this to go to France in the Spring during the rainy season. I actually ordered a size larger than my usual size because I wanted it to be loose and able to put my purse underneath. Not only was it not loose, the bottom was too small to come together and be zipped up. I ended up not being able to use it at all. The material is very nice and it would have been the perfect jacket for the weather.

Jacket is light, but provides protection from the elements.

The only negative is that the hood (when rolled up) does not stay inside the elastic collar pouch.

I recently ordered Tri-Mountain's Stain Resistant Short Sleeve Twill Shirt and although I couldn't tell from the photo... it really looked like a uniform in person, especially in beige. So even though the picture of this shirt makes it look kinda dressy... I thought this might actually be uniformish as well.

Right I was. So I went into it being okay if it was like a uniform. Otherwise, I'd of given it 2-3 stars for the deceptive photo. I need to wear beige for work in rural abroad and needed something I could hand wash that wasn't see-through in beige. It's a nice change from a polo and a cuter alternative to the regular button up shirt. And the beige color definitely isn't see-through. But it has that stiffness of uniform material and I'm going to give it an inital wash.

I am normally a 2X in plus size so I ordered both an XXL and an XXXL since both of these sizes fit in the short sleeve twill shirt I ordered. Not so with this shirt. The XXL was too tight and waaaay too short. Like a petite cut. I wouldn't wear it unless I lost like 30 lbs., lol. But the XXXL was a very loose, comfy fit for my bear-like 2X frame... but a tad boxy looking. I would have preferred slightly smaller, maybe. I think it's from the stiffness of the material and will look better after a wash. It'll do.

So long as you aren't expecting a really dressy shirt and instead something more on the side of a uniform... you'll be happy with this shirt. It's made tough and good for work. I hope my sizing issues give you a better starting point than I had.

Buy Champion Women's Absolute Workout Knee Tight

After several hours of browsing through amazon for capris to use while working out in the gym/running errands in especially with warm summer months approaching, I decided to take a risk and go for this one knowing there were no reviews on the product yet. I received them and put them on right away and fell in love. I'm 5'1, 110 pounds and got them in a size small and they go just a little below my knee which is what I was looking for. I keep seeing the ones that flare out a bit on the bottom and love the fact that these don't flare out at all. I definitely recommend these capri pants because they keep you dry, they fit well, are light weight, are also made of great durable material, and sold here on Amazon at a reasonable price. I will definitely be buying myself another pair soon.

Update 10/20/11I now own 2 pairs. I wish they had more of a selection of colors available but I'm still content with the overall durability & feel of these capris. The first one I bought 4 months back has been through several washes through the delicate cycle in the washing machine and still continues to look and feel brand new.

I'ts not so easy to find great fitting, well made athletic capris for under $50. I purchased a number of brands all more expensive than these and these are my favorite by far! Lightweight but feel sturdy, if that makes sense. They are a snug but comfortable fit and feel great on your skin; soft but hold you in well so you have a nice mix of comfort and support. I like how they are tight all the way down and don't flare at the ends. I am petite and the length is great, for very tall women they might be a bit too short (5'9 or above I would say) For under $20 they are a steal and rival pants over twice the price.

These were snug enough to wear around the house and the gym, but they were not tight. They were ideal to sleep in as well with the extremely hot weather in my area.

For a workout, they quickly wick sweat off the body. The inner thigh area is perfect to prevent chafing. I was able to do a good workout, and put my usual clothing on over this pair so I could go into an air conditioned grocery store without freezing.

I will buy another pair.

These are great athletic capris. They are compression style and extremely comfortable. The price is really good as well and they have held up nicely through several workouts and washes. I don't put these in the dryer as I have learned that the heat can sometimes cause the compression material to give out and become slack. So having never dryed these in the dryer they are still in pristine condition.

Great shoes!! Got on the projected delivery date, packaging was intact, and the shoes fit me perfectly. I did have to go to journeys first to test sizes before ordering because I threw all my other DC's away, in the store the 13 fit best and after opening the box and trying them on the fit was the same. These shoes are a true, fresh, crispy white. I thought they might glow in the dark when I first looked at em. But anyways I love 'em and I'm keeping 'em clean for as long as possible.

Other clothes over bottoms: skinny jeans. leather boots about 3 inches below knee. liner socks and wool socks.

size: 12 in jeans and dresses, 5'5", 160 lbs.

performance review:

doing quite well in this weather. don't feel cold at all. VERY thick, completely opaque, and very soft. Most wool (merino included) does have some itch for me and I need to wear something underneath it (I use silk long underwear b/c it's very thin and a natural fiber), but I'm very happy with this--no need for the silk.

size is LONG for my height and I have to fold up the cuffs. Also, the large is a bit big on me. I think for a snug fit, I should have gone with the medium. I love these though, so I won't return them. I plan on just washing them in hot water and shrinking them up a bit. These would be good tights to wear with skirts, although I would definitely keep the taller boots, and possibly put a silk underlayer in that case in this weather.

cat claws did snag one place. :( but overall, thick and smooth.

waistband is encased in the wool and is about 1" in height. seams along the inside of the legs, up the middle of both the front and back.

have not overheated at all so far.

I am a senior citizen that lives in northern Minnesota and go xcountry skiing several times each week. I chose minus 33 expedition bottoms because members of my family and I have had tops and find that regardless of the weather, they are comfortable, warm, and do not wear out ,always look good. Our family has worn these in minus 30 F weather and have not been cold. At the same time one does not "overheat" when it is not that cold. I threw out all my other long johns.

A lot of my favorite running gear is Asics, and a lot of my most disappointing running gear is Asics. They are inconsistent with sizing and unless you are trying something on in a store (and probably overpaying at said store), you are taking a gamble on the fit. After ordering a large shirt and having it fit ridiculously tight despite the fact that I typically wear a large or medium, I ordered an extra large in this shirt. And it's too big. But I made it work, because it is a very nice shirt, which is why I still gave it a rating of 4 stars. I have worn this shirt quite a bit since ordering it recently. In 50 degree and sunny weather, I can wear this as my only shirt with shorts and run comfortably for a long time. In 40 degree and sunny weather, I can wear this over a base layer with tights and be comfortable. However, if it is dark, windy, or wet, this shirt will not provide enough protection from the weather. As I said, I typically wear medium or large running gear, and ordered this big because of a previously small-fitting Asics shirt. You should order your true size, or if you are in between sizes, order the larger one (I should have ordered a large). However, it is convenient for layering for it to be a little big. They sleeves are a bit long on me, but again, the whole shirt is big, so it may just be due to that. It doesn't affect me because I either warm up and push mu sleeves up, or if it's cooler I let my sleeves come over my hands. The shirt is pretty thin; if it is breezy the wind cuts right through the material, which is nice in warmer weather to cool down. The material dries quickly, which is nice in 50 degree weather so your not sweaty and cold during your cool-down. The material is also very soft and comfortable, and on weekends sometimes I wear the shirt around the house because it's so comfortable. Bottom line: it's a great shirt, and the sizing is actually true (which I wasn't expecting so I ordered the wrong size).

I liked the style and fabric of these jeans but not the fit. As already noted, they run almost 2" large in the waist. Because of this I had to order the next size down but these were too tight in the thighs. This might be ok if you are looking for a snug fit. I also tried the Mountain Hardwear Stretchstone and Marmot Rincon. The Marmot jeans are also made of stretch denim, are true to size and have the relaxed fit I was looking for.

I've had this jean for about 7 months.

The fit is great, the material is comfortable, and I love the look.

But, I don't know if it's because it's a mid/light-weight denim or something about the way it's designed, but I've worn a hole in the crotch.

I don't ride a bike in them or anything. Normally I'll see knees and cuffs go first, but this is a new one on me.

Aside from that, it's a great jean. I'm considering replacing it, but it seems a little pricey for the length of time it lasted.

Buy Ibex Outdoor Clothing Skimmer Hat

I love this hat. I cut my hair with a one guard, which means 1/8". A light wool hat like this is perfect in the Spring or Autumn chill, in heavily air-conditioned areas in Summer, for sun protection, or for sleeping out doors in moderate temperatures. I even like to sleep with it loosely on my head like a Victorian sleeping cap if it's a bit chilly. I own two of these hats and am strongly considering buying a third.

I do switch to the Meru hat for outdoors in Winter, but the Skimmer is actually still ok when combined with a hood. Fits fine under a motorcycle helmet as well, I actually forgot I had it in there.

My head circumference is 22 1/8", and this hat fits. It's not a tight fit, but not falling off either. I find the Meru to fit pretty tightly when I first get it, and only over time does it stretch to be more comfortable and not leave seam marks. The Skimmer starts perfect though.

I've only washed it with cold water and never dried it other than air dry, about once a month I'd say, and it's not worn, frayed, or changed size. This may be the perfect hat.

these pants are pretty near perfect for what i need. super comfortable, dry fast (nylon), and are dressy enough to wear with a longer tunic type top to work, they don't really look like workout pants. to me they look like dress capris. after several washings they are not pilling at all. they do stretch out a little bit, but no icky sagging, just aren't quite so snug. they are spandex, so underwear lines and moles or other skin "imperfections" will probably be visible. i don't wear underwear with them , and just wear a longer tunic type top for modesty, and they work just peachy. so comfortable! the mushroom is more brown than grey, especially in the sunshine. the zipper pocket in front is sturdy and handy. the bit of embelishment design on the leg is cute too!

they are a bit more expensive than i think they should be, so that's why no 5 star rating.

i had to choose between the 4 and the 6 in size, and the 6 fit. (35-28-36) a little tight at first if truth be told, but again, they stretch out and there are never bulges thanks to the awesome roll waist. they are a bit too tight in the backside and crotch seem at first, but, i have a curvy backside. they are sewn very well. no puckers in odd places. i don't put them in the dryer (which i'm told you are not supposed to do with nylon) they hang dry really fast, so...no need! i love these pants and bought multiple pair in each color. yeah for style and comfort with Outdoor Research Astal Capris!!

oh, ps, in case you were looking into the the astral (long) pants as well, they fit nothing like these capris. no roll top, and the 6 was too small for me.

Review of Gildan G540 5.3 oz Heavy Cotton Long-Sleeve T-Shirt

I ordered relatively inexpensive extra-large, long-sleeved T-shirts from Hanes, Gildan, and Soffe. All purchases were Amazon. I wanted a shirt to serve as a sleep shirt to pair with miscellaneous bottoms.

1. Washing. All three shirts needed two washings and dryings (med heat) to become reasonably soft and lose their chemical odor.

2. Country of origin: Two shirts are made in El Salvador, one in Honduras.

3. Neck label: Hanes had printed-on-cloth label; others had tags.

4. Sizing: Hanes was baggier and 1 inch longer than the other two. The extra length is good, at least for sleeping.

5. Texture: Soffe and Gildan had identical, somewhat stiff texture compared to the Hanes.

6. Cuffs: All cuffs were reasonably tight.

Conclusion: If you are simply looking for sleeping comfort, probably go with Hanes--though currently at $10.41 the most expensive of the three. If you are wearing the shirt out in the world, and aren't overweight and no taller than six feet, the fit is a little better with either Soffe or Gildan. Soffe is currently a buck-fifty cheaper than Gildan though with fewer color choices. Hope this was helpful.
