These defeet gloves have worked for me as regular car driving gloves, on their own. As a daily bike rider, I use these with a overglove which keeps the wind from cutting through the wool. They are designed as layering gloves. Oncool but not cold mornings, I run in them. On chilly mornings I add a cheap fleece glove on top. They wick moisture wonderfully, the grip is good. I am currently looking for the long arm version as well.

Great, great gloves. These are the gloves you need if you cycle, run, take the subway, or bus or train or whatever it is you do. These gloves will keep your fingers warm and pretty dry too. They're probably good to about 35 degrees F, and they're machine washable. The grippy studs on the palm sides are perfect, not too much or too little. I run and cycle in the neon yellow, I'm hoping it makes me more visible. The black is perfect for everyday use. You'll dig these gloves.

I run outside in New England. It gets chilly, even in the early fall. I picked up these gloves because they price seemed right and the reviews seemed to support them doing a good job. I'm not sure who was using these to ride bikes, but the small breeze generated by pumping my arms while running cuts through these things almost like they're not there. The insulation provided is good, as long as the wind is eliminated (which, you kind of can't do). I tried taking my fingers out of the gloves & balling them up inside the palm. That worked nicely until I put my fingers back into the fingers in the glove, which had cooled off even more than before. Overall, I'm very disappointed. Back to shopping for running gloves.

During cold months I use these gloves during my bike commute (8 miles). These are well made: I've used these for two winters and they're still in good condition. (When temps fall below freezing, get different gloves.) I own two pairs. Highly recommended.

speeding down a sidewalk on my bike some years back, i side-swiped a bush and was thrown over the handlebars into the street. naturally i hit hands-first. i wore a bright blue pair of just these gloves then, and on arising found one glove unimpaired and the other torn completely open in the palm. meanwhile, both my hands were unscathed. you may imagine how sentimental one gets over these gloves, knowing that without them the wound would have been to the bone, a doctor required, and life-long..let's say, partial..loss of function likely. yeah, i recommend them. good for hiking, too.
