First off my head is a little larger than average, I'm not a big guy by any means but just have an odd shaped face, Haha. Having said that I too like the look of wrap around sunglasses, in the past I've owned both the Oakley Gas Cans and the Oakley Fuel Cell. To be honest the Oakley Gas Can was just a little too small for my larger than average face and the Oakley Fuel Cell was just a little too big I thought -didn't look good on me at all! As much as I like the "Made In America" Oakley's I'd rather have a good fitting pair of sunglasses so thankfully I found the Spy "Mccoy" Yes, they are made in China but they are the perfect size in between the Oakley Gas Can and Oakley Fuel Cell -and honestly they are also more durable then my old Oakley's.

11/24 Update Still going strong, I didn't mention in my initial review that I'm wearing these while deployed in Afghanistan -but these sunglasses are holding up great in this dusty environment. The hinges have not loosened up at all in the 5 months I've owned these glasses which is amazing in itself.

I had these glasses for less than a year and I'm really bummed that they broke yesterday! It's too bad too. They were really comfortable, liked the flat black matte finished, and the polarized lenses are a must. However, I have to question the quality of the frames. I dropped them (fell about six feet) and they hit right on the corner were the frame is the thinnest. My lens popped out, and when I went to put it back that is when I discovered that the frames had broke cleanly through at that corner. This is my only experience with Spy Optics, and I doubt that I will ever purchase again. It's to bad, because I really liked them. I just have to question the quality for the price.

I do a lot of walking and backpacking. This is, hands down, the most comfortable and warmest and snuggest hat I've ever owned. It's like having a little heater around your head. It blocks wind pretty well, too. I would recommend this to anyone. (Tip: it feels a little stiff when you first get it. Don't worry, it loosens up. Pearl Izumi is always top quality, I really like the relaxed feel of this shirt, and the fabric is very nice and soft with good moisture wicking properties. I'm normally somewhere between a small and medium but I got the medium and it fits well, not tight but neither does it feel over-sized. I like the color options, I'll probably get a couple more. there are no back pockets, but I like that because it wont interfere with my camelbak, there is one tiny ID/keys pocket on the right side with a zipper which is nice.

Great, versatile jacket that weighs close to nothing, packs into a jersey pocket easily, but absolutely stops wind in its tracks.

Fit:

According to GBW charts, I am sized at a medium. I also purchased a large as well to see which would fit me best. Most (if not all) GBW clothes are optimized for the cycling position. While standing straight, the jacket may feel tight across the shoulders and/or chest. But hunch over, extend the arms as if in a cycling position and the tightness should go away. This is normal, and I think the fit should be evaluated in this position.

The jacket is intended to be a slim fitting jacket, meaning it should be snug and allows a little bit of layering room (unlike the comfortable fit jackets, like the Phantom, which allows me to layer a lot more). I tried the medium and large with various jerseys and layers to evaluate which would be the most comfortable with the most combinations. In the end, I chose the suggested medium. While it was very snug with a baselayer and thermal jersey while standing, it was comfortable in the cycling position, and I appreciated the streamlined fit (i.e., not a lot of excess material flapping in the wind making me look like a parachute). When worn with just a summer jersey, the medium really felt right relative to the large as that felt too loose.

Performance:

As the title suggests, this is a really effective windbreaker! I was able to wear it on two rides recently, one with a thermal jersey (~50-60F) and another time with a summer jersey (~60-70F). On both rides, I absolutely felt no wind coming through the jacket. Given the +10F rise in temps, I thought I would take the jacket off later in the ride due to overheating on both rides. But the jacket did a good job of breathing and regulating my temperature. So while I was getting warm towards the end of the ride, I never really did feel like I needed to take it off. While grinding up hills, I did however wish they had arm zips like their Xenon 2.0 SO Jacket, but that would just have added weight and volume, taking away from the jacket's intention IMO.

Summary:

Great jacket that can be used in spring and in fall. It's great for long rides where the temps change over time and you need/want to take the jacket off and stow it. It's highly packable and easily fits in a jersey pocket or bike bag. But you may find you just don't need to because it breathes so well.

Chose this jacket after reading a thorough review of "weather" jackets in ?Cycle Sport?, a British cycle mag. This was their Editors' Choice amongst a dozen jackets. First the sizing...as other reviews indicate, this jacket fits small, i.e. it is Euro sizing. I am 5'10", 160#, 33" waist and 40" chest and I ordered both a L and XL. The XL is the correct fit for me, as per Gore's sizing chart. I wear a L in Sugoi, Louis Garneau, Capo jerseys and jackets.

Inaugural test today starting the climb up Haleakala volcano on Maui when the rain was coming at us sideways in sheets. Major soil run off on the roads too, and the jacket was snug fitting on my chest, no noticeable wind flapping. Sleeves and wrist cuff fit was excellent and good length down my back. In short, the jacket did what it was designed to do...keep my upper body dry, despite all the crud coming at it. My only quibble is that the jacket doesn't have a pouch for it to fold into. The rear zippered pocket works, but it has a larger capacity than what the jacket needs and therefore is not as small as it could be.

I first bought the same version for women, loved it so much and got one for my husband. It is such a great jacket!

Performance: very light, thin material, yet completely wind proof. It is a very technical jacket, different fabric is used at different strategic locations to ensure max. wind proof and breath-ability. Because it is so light, breathable and wind proof, it is extremely versatile. We wear it in temperatures from 60F to 40F. In 40F and windy, the jacket plus a mid layer are sufficient to keep us warm. That saves us the need for an insulated jacket.

Size: The other reviewer is correct. The cut is a bit too tight around the chest. My husband has M size Gore jersey, but has to get L size jacket.

Look: super fancy. I have the white and my husband has the red. When he is biking, the predominant color on the back is black with a slice of red. Very cool looking.

We are armature bikers on Trek hybrid bikes, our jackets impressed the hell out of people, and we were mistaken for pro's.

Another must have for 40F biking is Gore Race Power shoe covers. They are excellent!

Best Ibex Women's Balance Briefs Deals

Due to sales and trial and error, I've purchased the Ibex Balance Briefs in S, M, L. I am a size 10, and due to stretchiness all three fit, though differently. The small fits like a bikini brief, the large more like a french-cut. All work. After wearing wool undies since I took the plunge a bit over a year ago, I can say these are some of the most comfortable and versatile. The legs of the size L are starting to loosen with age, but still work, while the other two sizes, having less material to loosen, fit more like they have originally.

I have undies from i/o bio(I/O Bio Women's Merino Wool Contact Boy Brief), icebreaker (Icebreaker Women's Sprite Hot Pant), and stoic (Stoic Merino Boy Boxer Women's). The ibex have the largest percentage of synthetic, but are also the only seamless varieties. At first I thought the thicker and more textured ibex versions wouldn't be as comfortable against my skin, but quickly revised my opinion once they were on. Ibex are the highest cut, the others are all low-rise friendly and have wide elastic bands at the hip-line. The boy-short version of the ibex balance brief has a tendency to roll up on my thighs, so the stoic work better when I want to cover my hips and the top of my legs.

I have come to love wool undies. They do not itch (ignore this if you are lanolin sensitive), they do not stink even when you sweat, they are comfortable in hot and cold, and when you travel with them they can be hand washed and dry easily over-night (and are still comfortable if you are forced to put them on slightly damp).

Update approx. 1 month later I am sad to say that there is already a small hole in these. I am starting to worry they just are not going to hold up and for the price I paid they really should not have a hole after only a month. I own a ridiculously unnecessary amount of yoga pants (especially considering that I don't actually do yoga). I think I've bought about 4-5 different brands from Amazon, along with some from zappos/6pm, sports authority, kohls, and old navy. So you could say I really like yoga pants.

Of the ones I've bought on amazon I've ended up returning all of them except one, which are easily my absolute favorite pants yet: Alki'i Women's Cotton Lycra Fold over Yoga Pant. I bought them in every available color for my size.

The only reason I even bought another pair of yoga pants was the color I was sick of wearing black pants (with a flash of color) so I grabbed these in the charcoal/purple option.

Ultimately these Doublju pants will be joining my collection of keepers...while they aren't nearly as thick as the Alki'i pants and the fold over band is a good bit smaller and not as strong of a material they are still pretty nice pants (if you ignore the fact that I paid a bit more for these than my absolute favorites).

The one thing though these are INSANELY long like ridiculously long. I'm 5'7" these are easily 3-4" too long for me and I like my pants long (if it just barely touches the floor that's too short for me..I like to have about 1/2"-1" flapping over my heel...dunno why but I do). These are so long it's laughable...if you're incredibly tall (like 5'10" & up) you'll love these pants...if you're shorter than 5'6" I wouldn't bother unless you can sew pretty well or don't mind getting them hemmed.

I got a size Medium I'm about 150lbs (like I said 5'7"). While the sz large probably would be a better fit in terms of tightness around the thighs I don't feel like I'm busting out of these, and I can't imagine going up in size will do any sort of good for the length....so I'm sticking with a size medium.

Just got these. Put them on, took them off and printed out the return label. These SUCK. They are thin, I can see my panties through them and they are SHORT. I'm 6'0" they were about two inches too short. Just ugh. If you are short and want to wear these at home, they might work. If you're like me and are pissed off that Target stopped stocking the good cotton Champion pants, these are NOT the replacement for them. And the colorful part at the top is just annoying because its HUGE.

These are so soft, very stretchy (but not see through), and fit great around the waist. Unfortunately they're WAY too long. We're talking 6-8 inches past my feet. Even on my tip toes you can't see my feet lol. I have fairly long legs so I figured I'd be okay but nope. I will wash them and find out but I will most likely have to hem them to get to a safe length. Don't want my pants getting caught in any machines lol I will define toy be buying more despite the length issue. Better they be too long then too short honestly. :) enjoy.

This pack is not meant to contend with high-adventure backpacking packs or major deployment packs. It's a value-focused, 24to 72-hour pack. However, it's built well. Notably, it appears to have quality zippers, which is one of the primary points of failure on packs/bags. The pack expands quite a bit more than I expected, and once I loosened all the compression straps I found I had plenty of room to get all of my gear in it for use as an immediate response bag, which includes a set of ACUs, a few MREs, 2 bottles of water, heavy-duty poncho, and a handful of other [less bulky] support gear (knife, lightsticks, rope, etc.)

If you're looking for something a bit larger than a typical day pack, need something that's more sturdy than what you'd grab at Walmart/Target, and don't need a HUGE pack, I think this will do nicely, and it comes in a variety of colors. However I would not trust my life to this pack (i.e., if you're deploying overseas then I'd recommend a premium-quality bag like 5.11, Blackhawk, etc.)

This IS a great bag for the money and should hold up decently.

As a Paramedic, I needed a lightweight bag that I could easily fit between the seats in the ambulance and still be able to carry items that I need daily (My personal items). This bag coupled with Eagle Creek Quarter Cubes is perfect. I can fit 5 Quarter Cubes in the main compartment w/ room to spare and still have 3 smaller compartments to utilize. Plenty of Molle for expansion too! Great bag, well constructed for the price. The bag will serve me well for quite a while. I've used the bag heavily for about a month now without any problems or wear.

Currently the load out looks like this:

Main compartment:

Quarter cube 1: Electronics(Chargers, cords, ear buds, mini surge protector w/ USB, Solar USB Charger, spare batteries)

Quarter cube 2: Hygiene (Normal stuff: Deodorant, toothbrush and paste, floss picks, Wet wipes, eye glass cleaning cloth, Q-Tips)

Quarter cube 3: Personal first aid kit (Bandaids, Medical Tape, 4x4s, latex gloves, Neosporin, OTC Pain relievers, Imodium, Spare prescription meds, alcohol preps, hand sanitizer)

Quarter cube 4: Cold weather (Gloves, toboggans for both agencies I work for, foil blanket)

Quarter cube 5: Get home survival gear (Purification tablets, lighter, matches, tender, battery operated AM/FM Radio, compass, whistle, thermometer)

Best Deals for Condor Compact Assault Pack

I like the way the pack is set up. The compression straps are convenient. This pack has plenty of room in the separate compartments. The sizing and color of the pack were just what I expected. It was delivered as promised. There are plenty of molle attachment points. They are spaced evenly and seem to be solid. I have the 10x4 water bottle pouch attachment and it fits perfectly on either side of the pack. I plan on getting a second 10x4 to keep my cook kit in.

There are two things that I have had an issue with:

** My only real complaint The shoulder straps are attached by slide buckles at the top for adjust-ability. It took a while to get the right fit dialed in, and that's OK. The problem is that as I am hiking through the woods, the shoulder strap attachment slips. The shoulder strap is not fully padded. So when it slips you have the thin webbing pulling on your shoulder. This takes a while for this to happen. Hopefully after several more short trips, the webbing and buckle 'get trained' to stay in the original comfortable position.

** Minor issue I will sew a key keeper/mitten hook to the inside one of the compartments to keep my keys secured inside the pack.

I live/work in the city, and needed a pack as I take public transportation every day. I personally removed the waist strap, but would probably leave it on if hiking or using in the deer woods. I like the size, as I tend to carry more stuff then I will ever need, if it was bigger I would only carry more crap. The biggest pocket works perfect for a jacket, thermos or two, and a book. One review complained about the size, I personally like that it's not bulky, nor allows me to be.

If you carry anything of substantial weight you will have to figure out a way to get the shoulder straps to stay. They suck, I just tied mine into knots where they will no longer slip. A safety pin would probably stop them from slipping as well. The pieces that adjust the strap length (at top) does not have teeth in them. Again a simple knot and I have had no issues since.

The stitching did come loose in one spot, it took me a total of 15 mins to repair.

With the above mentioned problem, I'm still giving this pack 4 stars, since it's extremely affordable compared to the Maxpedition pack that is over 100 and looks identical. Why I paid an extra $30 for the A-Tacs color/pattern I don't know.

My 13" laptop fits in the main pocket while in a padded sleeve. The laptop is an Ultra thin Samsung.

A few years later with this bag, I will note the stitching came apart in another spot from over stuffing it. Glad I kept the nylon thread I used for the first repair.

Also because of the waste and chest buckles/straps, this is my preferred backpack when motorcycling.

I would buy this again, but be careful with the weight you put in it.

60 yr old women here. Difficult to find a comfortable pack at my age. And it is comfortable. Extremely tough and durable. Most likely at my age the durability is a moot point. Could probably go through a tornado intact. Unbelievable how much stuff can go into this pack. And yet it still is comfortable and balanced. I would not have even looked at this pack, but it was recommended by a friend. LOL, I will most likely have to leave it in my will to one of my great-great nephews.
