I'd like to be able to rate this (and the pants) a 4.5 only because these (and a midweight pair I have) don't have the stretchy free range of motion and breathability that under armour base layers have. I'm 6' 3" 214lbs and the XL is a little short in the arms and torso but will be fine. I know scent lok works very well, probably better than under armour scent control and combined with the price here on amazon I'm very happy with my purchase.

Canada Goose Men's Constable Parka Reviews

Canada Goose Men's Constable Parka,Black,Small
Customer Ratings: 5 stars

This is the third Canada Goose Jacket I have owned (one returned though). As with all CG jackets it is very high quality, but also has some quirks some good, others not so.

Pros:

Not made in China!

Slim styling, not as big and bulky as my big Resolute Parka but still plenty warm so this one is ideal for around town wear when conditions are not severe.

Clean appearance I vehemently dislike the "pineapple" type jackets that are so popular these days.

Longer length providing better coverage than Bomber parkas (like the Chilliwack which I returned).

Removable hood with drawstring also has a "real collar" unlike the non-removable hood parkas.

Back Strap for hanging (though it does say "Constable" in bold letters, it is neatly covered by the hood when down).

Cons:

Would be nice if the collar was fleece lined.

Some reviews have mentioned the draft effect. There is a waist drawstring but it doesn't have "keepers" so you must tie it in a knot (weird). I haven't had the draft problem, but I could see if one was really skinny it might be a problem.

No "pen pocket" on the sleeve like some of the other CG parkas.

Pockets are not fleece lined for hand warming purposes. Not a huge issue if you carry gloves, but I can see this as one of the biggest complaints I have with this jacket.

Now for the surprising part.

First: This is the first CG jacket I've owned where the sizing was spot on. My Resoulute Parka is a medium because the large was big enough for two full grown adults, while the Chilliwack was sized small so I bought an XL. This time the Large fits just right.

Second: Clearly, this parka is advertised for the "tactical" side zippers supposedly designed for law enforcement allowing quick access to a sidearm. While I really didn't even consider this when buying the jacket, this turns out to be the best feature of the jacket! The side zippers really do work! allowing instant access to my cell phone and belt carried flashlight, regular pants pockets for keys, change, etc. And even easy access to my wallet in the back. In today's age of electronic, belt carried gadgets, I'm surprised more jackets don't have this feature! NICE!

First Impressions:

The coat seems to be well made, with heavy stitching and heavy duty looking Velcro and zippers. One note: the zipper is backwards from what we're used to in the US. Meaning the part that you slide up and down is on the left side of the coat instead of the right. Not a huge deal, but it takes a few days to get used to, and trying to zip up the coat in freezing weather the first times is not an easy task. Nevertheless, it is something you get used to pretty quick and isn't something I would consider to be a big deal. It isn't all that heavy really in terms of weight--but that's why down is so awesome.

Good: This coat is incredibly warm, in case that wasn't obvious already from all of the products from Canada Goose, and not something I could see being worn above somewhere in the lower 30 degree range, and even then you will probably be unzipping it if you're very active. I've never had a coat any better than your average North Face coat that you'll find in sports store across the country (I'm in NC, so it's not like we have Michigan weather coats everywhere down here). I received it earlier this week, and it just so happens that we had some well below freezing weather over the past couple of days. The best way I can come up with to explain how this coat feels, if you've never worn one, is to say it feels like you're walking around covered with a down comforter. Today it was under 20 degrees (F) a large portion of the day, and I was warm between my wrists, head & waist (I have no nice mittens and was just wearing jeans). Last night was in the teens, with wind chill factors getting close to 0 degrees (F). I had to jump start my car this morning, and while my hands were cold because I do not own a pair of nice mittens, the parts of my body covered by this jacket were quite comfortable. After I started moving around more I actually had to take the hood off and unzip the zipper a little bit because I was getting so warm. The hood is quite warm as well and makes a huge difference in helping you stay warm, even with some 20+ MPH winds that we had today.

This afternoon I was driving and left my coat on--big mistake. I ended up with the heat set to COLD and windows down because the coat is so warm. I could have just taken it off, but what fun is that? In short, this thing is no joke. This isn't a run of the mill jacket that you buy at a department store, and isn't for everyone in all (or even most) climates.

Now, the bad: The pockets suck. There is no insulation whatsoever. The pockets for your hands are basically just covered by one later of the same material the coat is made out of, and no down. I have no idea who made the decision to make the pockets like this--maybe they expect people will be wearing mittens and the pockets just need to hold things and not really be that warm? I have no idea, but whatever the logic was, it didn't work. In terms of having enough pockets to put things in, this coat does great. In terms of keeping your hands warm without gloves--not so much. Not to say they don't help, but they could most certainly be better with some sort of lining in them. I can't imagine it taking much effort by the manufacturer to line two pockets with something warm. Right now they are not lined with anything and it's just whatever material the outer layer of the coat is made of (sorry if it has a special name, I don't feel like looking it up)

The second thing I did not love was how the hood snaps around your face. While the hood itself is filled with down and is quite warm, in the front it does not seal very well, allowing wind to below in and pushing heat out of the whole coat. What I mean by that is if you put the hood on, pull the pull cords tight pulling the hood tight around your face and then button the two snaps to close the flaps around your face, there ends up being a gap between the flaps you just snapped around your face and the collar of the jacket, basically leaving the area under your chin all but exposed to the elements This leaves openings where wind will go right through the jacket, and you. I am not sure what they could have done to improve this--perhaps some well placed Velcro would do the trick?

My last issue was the waist strap, or lack thereof. When walking it was easy to feel a draft going up the jacket as it does not hold very tightly around the waist. Pushing the jacket towards my stomach a little helped a lot, so I could see straps making a huge difference here. There are cords on the inside rear of the jacket that will tighten around the waist area, however, there are no holders to hold tension on those straps after you pull them tight (the hood does have these holders and they work well). I'm not sure why these were left off--I might try to find some and put them on myself just to see if it actually helps.

Other thoughts: I purchased the black version, and it shows dog hair / lint very easily. Obviously this is not a fault of the manufacturer or coat, but is something you might want to know.

Summary: While I believe I wrote more about the bad than the good, that is not to say that this coat is a bad coat at all. It is by far the best coat I have ever owned, and you will most likely be very happy with it. This thing makes me wish I lived in colder climate, as in about a month it will be too warm to wear for another 8 months at least.

Final note on sizing. It looks like these coats run a bit big, but I think that's pretty common for Canada Goose. I am 6', 160lbs and a small fit me well. In most coats I wear a medium, so it may be worth find one to try on before you lay down this kind of money on one.

Best Deals for Canada Goose Men's Constable Parka

Bought it 4 years ago, as with all CG-ses, a bit oversized. I am 181/75kg, and usually wear L size, bought this parka in M, and it fits well.

Compared to my Expedition parka, it is nothing comparable in terms of warmth, they are two different products. Around -20 -25 celcius it becomes not comfort to wear Constable outside for any prolonged period. So around that temperature i put on my Expedition, and it keeps me warm up until -50 celcius. On the opposite, until -15 -20 celcius it is impossible to wear Expedition, because it is too warm in it. In this way theese two parkas complement each other.

Constable Parka has somewhat military design, resembling of the M-65 jackets (as, from my point of view, some other CG-ses do, like Expedition, Citadel, etc, and which is good for me). Parka is not very long, and not heavy (but long enough to wear a suit under the jacket).

About the cons. Compared to more expensive Expedition, has somewhat simple design. Only one inner pocket without ZIP. I wouldnt recomment keeping any important documents in it, could be lost. Tightening systems at the waist and on the hood are much less sophisticated, than the ones of Expedition.

Anyway, very good and high quality product, highly recommend if only you dont plan to spent the winter in Siberia in it. In the latter case you should look for parkas like Expedition, Snow Mantra, etc. Feel terrible for my English, sorry.

Honest reviews on Canada Goose Men's Constable Parka

Great product. Can be a little bulky but definitely worth the money. I travelled to Alaska and being someone who hates and feels the cold easily, this jacket really done the job for me. Can be quite warm.

This product was bought and sent to France.

I usually wear Medium (a large medium should fit me, but a Large is too large ), and i also bought "Medium" for this parka, it fits me perfectly , with a little room. I would say that it corresponds to a Large in Europe.

This is my first Canada Goose , and i really appreciate all the details.

Plus : Cuffs are reinforced, the zippers are great, easy to open/close and seem to last for a long long time. The whole surface is water repellent.

Minus : the neck is not well protected even when the zip is high, so you really need to have a scarf, even when the weather is sweet (i nearly caught a cold yesterday at 9°C when having the zipper well high, but this was not sufficient) . Also, you can feel the cold coming from below because there is no draw string in front of the coat.

He was really excited to get this. He is a small ten year old boy, (65 lbs, looks like a four and a half foot noodle) and we got the medium. It is WAY TOO BIG for him. It will eventually fit, but he likes them to fit like skin, so this was hung in the back of the closet until he is older, much older.

We ended up buying the small which is perfect!

I must first say that I love this brand for it's comfort, fit and quality. I own two of these tops in different fabrics and they are extremely comfortable and figure flattering. I'm a petite mother of three, wear a (32C) size 2 or 4 depending on brand and the size small fits perfectly, it also makes by abs look much better than they should after three pregnancies. It's great for a trip to the park with the kids or a workout because it doesn't pinch the scapula area at all, yet it is very supportive in the chest.

Buy this tank and you will not be disappointed.

This top rocks! I originally bought it thinking it would be another tennis top, but I like it so much, I've been just wearing it casually with jeans or shorts. It's so flattering on and the fabric is amazing. I did have to go up a size. I normally wear a M and had to exchange for a L.

I have never tried this brand before so was taking a chance (b/c I like the cut of this top) and based my purchase mainly on the other reviews. I purchased 3 different styles, 2 in mediums, 1 in a small b/c I just didn't know how they ran. I'm 5'2", 115-120lbs, B cup. I got the (S) in the Sangria/Storm and it is just absolutely GORgeous! I will definitely buy this brand again. I was pleasantly surprised when I opened the package at how it is sooo much nicer than what the pic is able to depict. The small does fit me and I'm anxious to get the (M) sizes to compare. The mateial is a medium-weight fabric. Not too heavy or thick for yoga/hot yoga but not too flimsy for the gym or an exercise class. I would recommend wearing a sports bra underneath for a higher impact class but for yoga, pilates this top is just perfect! I do disagree w/the review that it is too low-cut for any 'real' exercise. I suppose a turtleneck would be the solution for that b/c I consider myself a modest person and don't like to be exposed. I feel 110% comfortable in this top!!

Honest reviews on Soybu Women's Up Tempo Tank

I am a size 6, maybe a 4 on a good day. The medium was too big. Also the material seemed to cling to my belly button too much. Wasn't very flattering on me.

I am always a small or even extra small top and I could barely get this on. It also had a super low neckso trying to do yoga was suffocating and too revealing. Unless you are shaped like Barbiemove on.

I bought this top for yoga in a size Small. I'm 5'2" and for shirts/tops I usually wear sizes Small, 4, and/or 34 C/D.

The shirt was a little tighter in the bust than I would like, but I can still make it work. The length was awesome, coming down to mid/lower butt, and it did not ride up during inversions. The fit around the waist and lower hem were perfect. I was worried about the pocket gaping out, but it did not-it ends up looking more like asymmetrical stitching/gathering.

The pattern (Chalk Kimono) is lovely and I was complimented as soon as I walked into class. I love the mesh detail that goes vertically down the back. The odd thing was that Lolë opted for white elastic at the bottom of the shelf bra. It looks fine, but black would've been better as it shows through the mesh panel. The non-mesh fabric was a little more slippery than I was anticipating, (I probably should've guessed the texture based on the fabric blend of 84% polyester/16% Lycra).

All in all a decent top. If I were to order another Lolë tank, I might consider trying it in Medium.

I own lots of Junkfood clothing; this sweatshirt is good overall. The material is great, but the fit is...less fitted than usual. If you are looking for a fitted hoodie I might look elsewhere, but for a "standard" fit this shirt is real nice. I bought it for slumming around the house and it is absolutely perfect for that. I have a feeling this sweatshirt would be perfect for most customers. And it fits true to size.

Review of Turtle Fur Kid's "Turtle's Neck" Neckwarmer

Turtle Fur Kid's 'Turtle's Neck' Neckwarmer, Black, One Size
Customer Ratings: 4.5 stars

I bought 3 of these a few weeks ago skiing in New Hampshire on a bitterly cold, windy day. At first, the kids (ages 5, 7 and 9) did not want to wear them, but when I showed them the tag and told them the story of the turtles who wear them to keep warm in Vermont, they all loved the turtle neck tube shape and they all put it on. I bought one for me, too, and it kept all 4 of us very warm despite the wind. I like that it is easy to pull up over the nose on cold days and wear just around the neck on not so cold days. It fit nicely on the neck below the helmet, too. My face and my goggles never got steamy or wet from the breath being caught behind it either. I have washed them 3 times so far and they have kept their shape. Best of all, the fabric is very soft and not scratchy on the kids' face or necks (and my kids have sensitive skin). I highly recommend these.

Best Deals for Turtle Fur Kid's "Turtle's Neck" Neckwarmer

These are perfect little wraps for my kids. They fit them now at 3 and 4 and they will fit for many years to come.

Honest reviews on Turtle Fur Kid's "Turtle's Neck" Neckwarmer

I have had one of these for myself for a long time, so I knew that they are great for keeping your neck warm without unravelling and falling off every two minutes like a scarf.

I was hesitant to buy one for my 15-month-old baby in the kid's size because I was afraid it would be too big. I was wrong it fits her perfectly! So much so, in fact, that I'm surprised that other reviewers say that they use them on older children. To me it looks like it would be too small for a 4-year-old, but I could be wrong.

My baby doesn't love having it pulled over her head. If I could make one improvement (or if I were handy with a needle and thread) I would have it open on one side and close with velcro or something.

Two thumbs up from a 10-year-old girl who uses this as a staple of her winter wardrobe. Her nose and ears chill easily, but there are no complaints when she has her Turtle Fur warmer on board. She wears it high over her nose and mouth, leaving little exposed under her hood. She's used it down to six Fahrenheit and a stiff breeze and been comfortable on the slopes and her walks to school. It's too thick to do this during hard aerobic activity; at these times she pushes it down around her neck or takes it off until she settles down again.

This shirt was a gift for Mrs. B (our Sister In Law) who is a lovely woman. She has a very small frame, so I wasn't sure what size to buy because she likes her clothing to fit larger. Mrs. B enjoys the outdoors and I know Pearl Izumi to be an amazing company that makes super comfortable clothing. I ordered the green version of this shirt in a medium and it worked perfectly for her. I do know that using a mild detergent on these shirts is a good idea (I own a short sleeved version) and I would not recommend the dryer.

Great pants designed in Sweden. I don't put up well with the BC mosquitoes on my legs so I was searching for well ventilated hiking pants when I came across these beauts'. Tough G1000 material where it's needed (Knees, lower legs, but) and stretchable/breathable material behind the legs and front hips. On top of that there are two large zip vents per leg one upper and one lower, outside of the legs for great ventilation on those hot treks. The material is very fast drying My test hike with these pants was a North Shore down pour. There are also hooks under the front cuffs that you can connect to your boots. The cuffs are also adjustable. There are 5 pockets, one being inside the right large thigh pocket. The left thigh has a zip pocket (under the flap). Size fits pretty good I'm 5"11 175lbs and the size 48 (US 32) fits perfect around the waist but seems a tad on the long side however, I like the length as the pants don't leave my boots on high steps... perhaps as designed.

The Arctic Fox Keb trekking trousers are absolutely AWESOME. The fit, the cut, the attention to detail is just superb. You can see the attention to detail given to these pair of Norwegian trekking pants. Its got the heavy wearing G1000 cotton & poly fabric. Yet its doesn't feel heavy at all. The articulated knee cut just works..... superbly. On the trunk and back of knees its got the stretchable fabric. Both are DWR water resistant. The G1000 fabric comes lightly pre-waxed and the stretchable fabric has superb DWR. With wear, you of course need to re-treat the trousers. It is also very breathable. Its winter now in OZ.... this pants keeps you warm without heating you up. An excellent outdoors pants for layering underneath when needed.

I wouldn't mention all the features and pockets of this trousers, you can check it up yourself. But suffice to say, they are well placed, excellently designed and they don't get in the way of your moving when they are filled. Plus the trouser looks rugged yet stylish. The pic doesn't do it justice. And its so comfortable. Its suitable both for outdoors in the wild and for casual wear and city travel or for holiday especially there's a bit of walking, hiking and site seeing. This trousers is just AWESOME. Love it. And btw, the size is just perfect. You can see the difference between American design and Norwegian or Northern European design. The Norwegians know the outdoors and it shows.
