I miss plain old running shoes. Nowadays it seems like whenever I go to buy a pair, all I can find are "minimalist" shoes which offer little to no arch support. Maybe I'm in the minority but I really have no desire to wear neon colored foot gloves. I liked my basic, neutral running shoes the way they always were solid and supportive. As a person with "difficult feet" I have to spend entirely too much time hunting to find something that works and it's frustrating.

So here we have this new model from Asics, which offers a more traditional design with some modern updates. Like a minimalist shoe this one is lightweight and snug. However, like my favorite running shoes of old, this model also has a firm arch (check that silver arch plug that keeps it from bending in the wrong places) as well as solid springy cushioning. It's also got a removable insole which allows my medical orthotic device to slide in neatly. The material breathes well too. Plus for those of us in the over-35 category the colors are subtle and basic. No neon!

For the price and these are very reasonably priced I haven't found a better buy. If you are looking for a basic neutral running shoe that supports your feet and looks like something an adult would wear, look no further. Good job, Asics.

If you run or walk more than a couple of miles per week, do yourself a favor and do not buy there shoes! Their soles are too thin and they do not offer proper support for running. If you only use the shoes for driving and an occasional visit to the mall, then they are fine. The shoes are well made and they look good. They are just not for running or long walks.

I needed a shoe that provided support for overpronation and I went to a sports store and bought an expensive pair. Then I came online to look and see what Amazon had and I found these! I bought them and compared them to my more expensive pair and these fit better! I love them..they are so light and stylish! I wear a size 5 and I got a 5.5 and I really like the toe room--it allows me to run or do plyometrics. They have good traction too! Definitely recommend!

I have always worn Asics for running, but a more expensive style. These are great for running 3-5 miles several times a week. Cushioning is good and they fit just like my other Asics. My feet are wide across the top with a small heel and a medium high arch. In regular shoes I wear a 7.5-8 medium width and in Asics I wear an 8. It allows room for the natural slide forward that happens with cardio training. The heel cup fits perfect and it accommodates the width across the top and supports my arch.

My girlfriend had a nice looking pair of Nike running shoes, but they left her feet riddled with blisters. How she stood them i can't say, perhaps it is that women are so use to wearing shoes that look good but are uncomfortable. Regardless, i took her shopping for shoes and knew that ASICS is in my opinion the best fitting brand out there. She picked these out while at Sports Authority and then we found them on Amazon for less and in a color combination that she preferred. We used a pair for a light hiking trip (e.g. 8 hours a day walking around towns, volcanos, shops, etc.) and these never gave her any problem. In fact they also corrected her over pronation and suited her high arched feet.

I bought this transmitter because I did not know that the Polar Heart Rate Monitors came with a transmitter included in the box. I could not find anything that specified this, so I ended up purchasing an extra transmitter.

That being said, this transmitter is super comfortable. The rubber model that comes with the heart rate monitors does not have any comfort issues over this one. The electrodes are sewn inside the fabric of the strap, and they are soft. The only hard piece on this is the plastic transmitter part that is not that big in the front. If you are doing something that involves a lot of body motion, like aerobics, tennis, dance or lifting weights, this fabric model is a better alternative to the rubber model. This fabric strap transmitter might also be a better option for women, who may already be dealing with an underwire bra at the gym.

As far as functionality goes, you won't really need a coded transmitter unless you are using the HRM in a crowded environment where EVERYONE is using monitors. Like at my gym, where the personal trainers sell the Polar brand of HRMs, hold weekly training classes about them, and encourage everyone to buy them. If you don't find yourself in this type of environment, but you find the regular transmitter to be uncomfortable, than this is for you. If the regular transmitter does not hurt you, then you don't really need this.

One problem with this transmitter is the clip mechanism that you use to snap it shut. The little plastic points that clip in look like something I am going to break in about a month. Everytime I snap it open or closed I feel like I'm breaking it.

I bought a new heart rate monitor and this transmitter came with it. I have had to replace the battery after about 9 months which was no big deal. Since than I have had so many problems with the transmitter stopping in the middle of a run. I have replaced the battery so many times that the cover now is stripped which means I have to replace the entire sensor since Polar does not just sell a cover. I would probably not buy another Polar. I am disappointed in their lack of reasonable support of the product. I thought having a replacement battery was a positive however the design flaws make the device unstable after the cover and battery is removed.

One big improvement from the original transmitters (T31 or T61 transmitters) is that with this model (the Wearlink) you only have to buy a new battery and replace it once they ran out and your transmitter is ready to use again. With the original ones you have to buy a new transmitter every time the battery dies, since the whole structure is sealed. So if your Polar wrist watch came with the T31 or T61, wait until the battery is finished and buy the Wearlink transmitter instead, you will save a lot of money over the years (compare the 39.95 US$ that the T31 or T61 cost vs the cost of a replacement battery).

The other big advantage is that the Wearlink transmitter is more confortable to wear, since it adapts better to the shape of your body since even the electrodes are flexible and are embedded in the fabric. Being flexible and all makes it easier to storage it your pocket when your finish training or if you are traveling.

In summary a great product for your Polar HRM, and a smart improvement if it is time to replace your old transmitter. Don't buy another T31 or T61, buy this one instead.

I run with my Polar six days a week, and probably train about ten hour a week with it. I used to have the T31 with my first Polar (the M61) so I can tell you first hand the Wearlink is far better. In summary more confortable, easier to wash, and a money saver. I was more than happy to trow the old one away after I bought this one.

I bought this belt to replace the one that came with my Polar watch (720i) since the one the watch came with did not have a replaceable battery (you are supposed to send the belt in and get a replacement belt for about $10 less than this belt but you still can't replace the battery). So I figured I can buy this one and by the simple act of replacing the battery I can save myself a decent amount of money.

This band is very comfortable (I am a big guy at 6'4" with a large build and it fits me no problem). it is more comfortable than my original one and works great. And when I need to replace the battery, the belt came with several replacement battery gaskets so that I can ensure each replacement remains water tight.

This is a fantastic Heart Rate strap for multi-purpose exercisers. Because the unit is so small, and user servicable for batteries, it is unlikely to be a problem for most people to use it for years. The only reason I have to take a star away is clarity of sizeing. The Med-XL band states that it is for 27" 54"; the XS-S labels itself for 22" 32". My measurement is 30"; so in theory I could use either band; but in reality, I'm about as large as you can go on the XS-S band; if you truly were trying to wear it as a 31.5" range, it would be performing chest compression; not just measuring your heart rate. If you really have a 31" or above span that you need to cross, do yourself a favour, and get the larger band!

Our Maui's developed a slight crack exactly where the screw was fastened. We returned them for their "2 year warranty," since we only had them a few months. After a couple weeks we got a postcard from "Joan" in the repair dept. telling us that these were discontinued and that we could select another $300 pair for "30% off retail." When we explained that would be more than we paid through the awesome Amazon system, she said we were out of luck! She even trashed Amazon as "discounting discontinued models" when our model was described as a new model on their own website! "What about the warranty?" The supper thin frames are the solution to my problem. As a helicopter pilot, I got headaches from my sunglasses due to them being pushed against my head by the headset. Finally I can fly without pain. They are light enough that you shouldn't leave them on a table on a windy day, and you will often forget that you have them on your face. The polarization is excellent, and the clarity is as good as any pair of glasses I've had before.

These MJ Kapalua sunglasses are tastefully designed with high quality lenses. The sunglasses are so comfortable you will forget you have them on. The Kapalua are not the gargantuan-sized frames which overwhelm one's face.

There is one negative and one positive factor you should be aware of...

Because the frames are ultra-light they break easily. It is not unusual for the lens to crack where the frame attaches to the lens. (This has happened to my glasses twice.) The frame can also fracture without undue stress.

Maui Jim has repaired or replace my sunglasses each and every time, no questions asked. Mail the glasses back with a check for $10 and in about 10 days you will have a like-new pair of MJs.

It is important to A) purchase your MJs from an authorized dealer (if you buy MJs on ebay without the original case, they are most likely knockoffs), B) retain your receipt, C) keep your MJs in the supplied case when not being used, and D) use only a microfibre cloth when cleaning the lens.

These sunglasses are pricey, but Maui Jim backs their products well. Enjoy!

Worth every penny and I'm glad I bit the bullet after hesitating for months. I have the mid weight version (love it) and afte a 10 mile hike in 5'F weather I started thinking I wanted a heavier base layer. This is twice the "weight" which actually is just a much denser weave but also possibly softer than the mid weight. Thumb holes are a nice bonus as is the fabric flap over the zipper top to protect your chin when it's freezing. So impressed with it I treated myself to the leggings as well.

Light, responsive, able to handle sprints as well as lifts. The strap over the forefoot really locks down the entire shoe so that it moves with your foot. Would not recommend for cold it's a thin shoe. Great shoe for the gym.

At first I would use this for training and basically everyday shoes. I started using them for basketball and tennis and I was pretty disappointed. I was doing a lot of lateral movements especially in tennis and it felt like i was about to slip right out of them. In basketball, I felt like my cuts were hindered. After a couple more days they really started to stick to the basketball and tennis courts. I don't know how much the velcro helps and I never undo it when I'm taking them off. Definitely one of my favorite shoes I've bought.

I've been using Body Glide more than once a week for 4-5 years. Body Glide used to be a great product. It's still a decent product, but it seems the water content has been slightly increased. This change has caused a "paste" problem. The first time I got a "paste" stick from Amazon, I assumed it was a fluke. So, I ordered more from a different on-line company, and unfortunately I have the same issue on multiple sticks from multiple sources.

Body Glide is advertised as, "Dry Non-Greasy Skin Lubricant". The important word here is "dry" and in the past the product has always been dry. I could rub it on with a nice firm stroke and it would really stick right where I wanted. No mess, quick and easy, all set for my ride. The new product is softer and more of a firm paste than a true dry solid. I can't simply rub it on dry like I used to. Now I have to rub in on with light pressure, then spread it around with my fingers a bit, then wipe down the side of the stick since the new product is slightly messy.

Chafing should be a four-letter word. There are parts of my body that cannot live without BodyGlide. You name it, I use it there. If I forget to use it, I may not be able sit down or wear a bra without pain for days. It lasts throughout a three-hour run without feeling sticky or gooey. Have used this on many long runs/marathons/ultramarathons and can't complain with any experience. Used on "upper-inner thigh", nipples, lats, privates, feet, etc. with positive experience every time. Just a shame that the clothing/weather forces you to have to use this product. Not many experiences in torrential downpours, but it does take a little extra scrubbing to remove in the shower afterwards, so i imagine it holds up fairly well. Have not tried any other comperable products to compare to however, outside of Vaseline. IMHO, this product works better than straight Vaseline.

I work out hard and sweat a lot, yet these wick well and keep me dry and warm. The anti-microbial treatment really works on blocking the sweat odor too. I ordered this as a Christmas gift for my daughter, who is a skier, and also ordered one for myself in a different color. This is an excellent product from Hot Chillys for cold weather. Its impossible to find this great Hot Chillys shirt in a size XS. So I was delighted that it's available from Amazon. The shirt fits perfectly. The fabric is smooth on one side and fleecy on the other, but not bulky. I use it for skiing and layer a thermal shirt under it. Looks great apres ski too! Machine washing and hanging it up to dry keeps the shirt looking and feeling like new. I plan to buy more in other colors if available.

I bought this shirt for a recent trip to Norway and Belgium. I also wore it on a hike to Priekestolen which turned out to be very wet and rainy. I attribute my relative comfort to this little shirt and it's wicking and warming abilities. The XS fit tightly (as an underlayer should) and I'm 5' 0" and 130#. I did find that even at my height the shirt rode up when I was hiking which made for some cold muffin top. One other negative is that the neck is extremely tight when fully zipped. I felt like my head was going to shoot off the top of my body, so I had to leave it unzipped. Functionally, however, this shirt was great and the material did exactly like it should.
