The band inside did not give or stretch. Best to go up in size. Beautiful hat besides and I like the brim for snow or rain.

I am a normal sized women (122 lbs, 5ft 4) regular sized head. I bought the sm/med which would normally be the perfect size for me. When I put it on it was soooo snug and way too tight around my head. The draw string feature was useless and i would have gotten headaches due to the sizing and tightness. There doesnt seem to be a next size up (med/large) so i ordered the large/xl which too me seems a little extreme, but then again its only a size number. Just be aware that this hat runs small! I will update my review once i get the new size.

I love the color avocado. Its a tad darker in person then the picture, but still a very nice color. Nice and bright so you wont be missed on the slopes! I like that the ear flaps can be worn 2 ways and the draw string features seems like it would be great when the hat is a little looser and not glued to my head.

***9/28/12 got my new hat size. its HUGE. But with the draw-string feature it sinches right up to a nice snug fit but not headache snug. the hats have a lining on the inside, so on the small/med the hat would have fit if the lining wasnt so tight, but you cant remove the lining. unless you have a smaller head i would get the large/xl.
