I lead backcountry trips in Western NC where it rains A LOT. I ordered the Foray jacket from Prime a few days before I left out on a backcountry trip and had someone deliver it to me on our first resupply. I literally put the un-opened jacket in a canoe, paddled to our campsite on Lake Nantahalla and just waited for the inevitable rain. Within 10 minutes of first trying on the jacket, we were caught in a thunderstorm with 3 second close lightning (flash to boom time).

I then spent 30 minutes in lightning position discovering all the neat features of the jacket.

The brim on the hood is a nice addition to keep rain off your face, but the adjustment pull tab in the back is a little awkward to adjust.

The full length side vent zippers are a great touch especially when the temperature is up around 90. The jacket can open up like a poncho which I like very much because the jacket definitely gets warm in 90' temps.

I only give the jacket 4 stars because it is slightly bulky and the cord lock on the hood is awkward. I prefer my clothing to be slim fit and this jacket is not at all slim fit. But for the price here on prime for a Gore-Tex Paclite jacket it is a great value. The gore-tex will last for years unlike my other DWR finish jackets that have not withstood the Western NC rainforest.

The jacket also packs up into its own pocket which is very useful when carrying it in a backpack.

Great jacket! Ultra light weight and super water proof. Love how it packs into front pocket for storage. OR always makes the best gear
