These booties were just what I was looking for for winter riding. They provide enough insulation for warm feet even into 20s (I actually did two 2+ hour rides in the teens with these, but the feet did get a little cold), without feeling super bulky like some neoprene booties. They also had enough stretch to wear with both my road and mountain shoes, a bonus since I tend to ride the MTB more in the winter. The bummer came after using these for a couple weeks when the zipper on one stopped working. Too bad such a fine product has to be handicapped with a zipper. How about just using velcro?

I bought these because I was hoping they would fit over my relatively bulky MTB shoes. I also wear the MTB shoes when road biking, and in temps in the lower 30's or less I get numb toes pretty fast. I still haven't actually worn them on a ride, but I will describe them a lot better than the LG website does.

The model is called the BiMax. They seem to be the only covers on the LG website pictured on MTB shoes, but the website doesn't mention anything about why they are called BiMax, or what use they were in intended for.

The materials shown on the tag that came with the covers are 3mm neoprene, and Windtex. The neoprene covers the forefoot and the back of the foot/ankle. The neoprene has a soft shell feel to it and should provide some water resistance. The Windtex is a wind-blocker that covers the front of the ankle. The zipper on the back is the type that has a rain seal. There is another material used to wrap from the side of the cover to the sole of the shoe. It's intended to be durable, but it's still just a tough fabric and will wear if you do some walking in these. The cover leaves a big opening for the cleat/forefoot, and another opening for the heel. The fabric crosses over the arch. On my shoes, the fabric doesn't wrap under the heel, so I won't see wear there. The fabric does wrap under the forefoot about 1/2" or 3/4" all around.

Overall the construction quality and materials quality seemed good.

My MTB shoes are by Cannondale, and are relatively highly padded. They have a thick collar and a thick soles with a recessed cleat. They are size 10.5. I ordered an extra large (one size up) to accomodate the bulky shoe, and that ended up working perfectly.

They are easy to put on and really keep my feet warm. I wear a small shoe and the small fits perfect.

I got caught outside at sundown on a ride last week and nearly froze my feet off. I was dressed for the weather when I left but I never expected the temps to drop that suddenly. The rest of my body was fine but my bike shoes are well ventilated so my feet got cold pretty quickly. After that, I decided to get some shoe covers :) These fit the bill perfectly. I have a pair of Sidi Pro Carbon shoes size 46 and ordered the XL which fit perfectly. They could easily stretch over at least one size larger. I tried them out today which was in the low 40's with a cold breeze and they worked as advertised. I was out for about 90 min and my feet were nice and warm when I got back. Build quality is nice they are mainly neoprene with some more resistant material on the toes and underneath and the stitching is solid as well. So far, so good.
