Reviews of SKINS Men's Bio Sport Compression Sleeves

SKINS Men's Bio Sport Compression Sleeves , Black, Large

I like this product because it provides compression but it does not feel too tight. It looks cool and isn't short, it covers my arm from my wrist upto my armpit and shoulders. It initially does not slip off but after like an hour it does begin to slip off a bit. But that's okay because if it wouldn't slip off it would probably be too tight. The only thing that would make this product better is if it came with individual right and left arm design.

Simply great... I like it really so much.. .Just one small thing.. If I will be buy it again I choose white color. Yes, black is more sexy, but in the summer black is not practical :(

I'm an amateur runner with a C cup, I love this sports bra because of its support. The fabric it's soft and seems durable. Great choice after years of dull bras and shoulder rashes.

I am large busted and this bra has changed my life there is virtually no bounce when i wear this bra it is amazing. it does give you a bit of a funny look under your t-shirt because of the design but the no bounce far outweighs this. Its fantastic!!!

I have owned every model of 5.11 tactical pant they have made over the years. Over that time I have only come to really like one pair and that was the Tac Lite Pro until the Stryke pants. I wear these in hot environments for LE and hunting. I will start with the few CONS these pants have.

CONS:

Cell phone pocket appears to have been enlarged from previous models but is still a bit small to get the phone out one handed. Don't get me wrong it works but has room for improvement. It was probably sized with an iPhone excluding a protective case. The phone itself without case fits and comes out fine with a little push up from the bottom of this deep pocket. However with a case such as an Otterbox Defender or Lifeproof it tends to be a bit tight and too deep. A tad bit wider 1/8 and about 1 inch shallower would help. If you have a wider phone like some of the androids with a case then forget it. Still a big improvement over the last. Of course there are other purposes for these two pockets but probably the most useful would be a flat item such as a data phone.

They are not as light as I would of hoped. Doubled up knee areas I feel are not necessary. This is due to the kneepad inserts they have sewn in which I never use (normally I cut them out). If I need kneepads I will use external. Who uses their small foam inserts anyway, I have never seen them on the range so do away with the inside knee pocket and trim some weight. I purchased their lightweight Jean Cut Tac pant without the cargos with the Stryke pants and there is a huge difference in weight so the technology is there just not with the right pants. The Stryke pant is also thick around the belt inner area, which causes sweat. A lighter material would help but you would sacrifice in durability over time. Pockets are made of the typical heavy cotton which will hold up to years of abuse but are too thick in my opinion and cause added weight and because their cotton sweat.

Breathability is not what it should be. After a 15 min walk in 82 degree heat the waistband and crotch we not dry. The waistband especially due to the thickness and lack of breathability does not wick away moisture. The pants don't breath like they should but are bearable especially in moderate temps.

PRO's

Sizing seems to be spot on! None of the recent models fit me in length after a few times in the wash and dryer. I think this is due to the lack of give in the material of older pants and the old crotch causing the pants to ride up when sitting and walking not to mention the cotton or canvas blends shrink. I am a 34/30 and have several older pairs of different models that I wont wear or have had to take the hem out of just to fit. Every other 30 length pant fits me fine off the shelf. So far (no wash yet) these are perfect and just long enough to wear with a pair of Salomon's or Merrill's. They are also cut perfect at the bottom, not too tight and not too wide so they fall back over the boot loop and tongue back to where they should be without having to reach down and fix them. Waist sizing is spot on with almost no stretch in the elastic waistband. Thigh area is perfect and not baggy like the other 5.11's. These are about one inch narrower than other 5.11's (Tac Lite Jean Cut) and still allow you room to move. Crotch is spot on! Again in other models it sags and looks like crap and I will not wear pants like that. This new crotch allows freedom of movement with no binding and without the saggy appearance and feel of other models.

Flexibility is great with this material. It's a Rip Stop with Spandex I believe and has just the right amount of stretch to give you the added flexibility and give when kneeling or bending down. This flexibility lets the pants stay in place at the waist and in the length. Weather or not the spandex will holdup to repeated times in the dryer remains to be seen. Another version of their Spandex pants were a few years back and combined Spandex with canvas and were a total flop and heavy enough for a boat anchor.

Pocket placement perfect! Moving up the cargos and making them part of the pant instead of sewn on externally is how it should be done. They also slanted them to the front, which helps with magazine retrieval. There are M4 sized magazine pouches in each pocket (4 total). By moving the cargos up within an inch and a half from the bottom of the front pocket is exactly the way all cargos should be. This eliminates the pants from sag and smacking the knee when the pockets are loaded and most importantly it allows for quick and easy no reach access to the pockets. Great for short guys with monkey arms! Their Tac Lite Jean Cut has something these should have and that's M4 or ASP pockets in the back on each side above the back pockets and below the belt line. I would much rather have a slit pocket their and use that for a magazine pouch but you cant have everything. Pen pockets in the top of the cargos is great along with the reinforced knife clip area on the two main front pockets. One con to the cargo pocket placement I forgot to add is if you wear a drop holster it will completely cover one of your cargos but this is common in most anyway.

Overall:

I really like these pants and will definitely buy additional pairs providing they ad some more color options. They will be my new range and hunting pants for sure. Mossy Oak would be a hit for sure!

5.11 comes close but never hits it right on the head with the perfect pant but then again who does with anything these days. Improvements that could be made are:

1. Remove the thick knee pad pocket area.

2. Incorporate the Spandex blend with a lighter Rip Stop such as the material that's in the Jean Cut pants.

3. Go with a lighter material for the pockets and waistband area.

4. Make the front cell pockets wide enough to get your phone out with a thick case and just a bit shallower making a one-handed retrieval possible.

If you are looking for a duty pant to replace your old canvas or other non-stretch 5.11's then these are it. Great overall pants for LEO/Security/Range and a big improvement over previous models. Near perfect!

By the way their Tac Lite Jean Cut I mentioned a few times has several issues and I would not recommend that product.

I have always ordered 5.11 tactical cotton pants, but now that I have tried these tactical durable stryke pants I just love them.

Its really has a sleek look not to baggy, its lite, soft and perfect fit and has flexibility due to its stretch.

Their great for summer and spring, for winter I will stick with the heavier cotton tactical pants.

Now that I've tried them I will definitely order some more.

I love these pants. Ridiculously comfortable. They're like civilian BDUs. The elastic on the pants aren't like other elastic I've dealt with this elastic is practical and tight NOT loose and made so that you can gain some inches makes it easy to maneuver in for work or hiking. The cargo pockets have pockets within, like it. The hand pockets are reinforced so that you can clip knives or holsters without having the pocket buckle under the weight. The front belt loops have holsters. The bottom of the pant leg has an opening for a blousing strap to be inserted if need be.

On to the negative. I do love these pants, I think I've made that clear. Now it's time to explain my 3-star review. These pants are expensive and I can appreciate that, happy to pay it. You can see the wear with each wash the material looks great upon purchase and just starts fading to garbage. Followed washing instructions to the letter EXCEPT that instead of LOW heat I used EXTRA LOW heat for a short amount of time and then hung to dry for remainder.......for the price, the material should still look great. It only took a 2-3 months for me to wonder what I paid for.

On another note.......and not related to the reason I chose 3-stars.....the material stains extremely easy. Sounds silly. Same stuff I get on my Wranglers or Dockers......comes right off with a little bit of Shout........not this material, anything that touches it becomes ingrained it seems.

I love these pants enough that I could live with the negatives if they were just cheaper. For the price, the negatives I mentioned shouldn't exist.

Honest reviews on Men's 5.11 Tactical Stryke Pants

I own two pairs of taclite pants. I use to love them; then I got these.

The problem with the taclite pants: the waste doesn't stretch enough. Getting a bigger size is like buying parachute pants. The smaller waste was uncomfortable and impossible to iwb with.

The stryke pant: softer. Better fit. The size bigger I couldn't get with the taclite fits perfect and the legs aren't huge. The waste stretches enough to iwb with 2 guns. The higher cargo pockets are great. The hand pockets are much wider and easier to access. The knife spot is wide and easy to access. The rear pockets look normal unlike the taclite but you can't fit a liter bottle of water like the taclite. It's missing the large bag pouch which is OK because you get a less conspicuous looking pant. Still have the two discrete pockets.

These pants stretch! I don't know how they do it. I wish all my pants stretched like this. These are the most comfortable pants ever. I wish they made the same material for uniforms.

The hardknox are my favorite glasses to wear. I've wanted a pair for over a year, but originally paying $100 for a pair of sunglasses seemed a little too expensive for me. But, since the purple haze was discontinued or something, these ones were marked down. The package came in the estimated time and they fit, feel great. They aren't polarized, but the lens still make it easier on my eyes (I have sensitive, light eyes). The pattern is awesome, I have no complaints at all!

Arc'teryx Theta SV Bib - Men's Review

Arc'teryx Theta SV Bib - Men's Black, XXL/Short
Customer Ratings: 5 stars
Buy Now
I received a pair of these bibs a few seasons ago as part of a GORE-TEX product testing program. Since then, I've put them through the ringer, primarily skiing but also using them for occasional rainy day hikes and even a few cold-weather river trips.

Overall, I've been pleased with these pants. I like the bibs for skiing, and the built-in waist band makes it easy to drop the bib part down if I'm skinning or don't need them.

Durability has been good, although I did develop a few small tears in the knees (probably from kneepads and teleing). Bottom cuff reinforcements have kept ski edges from damaging the material at all.

These pants offer great storm protection I've stayed dry in water and wind, even when friends up getting soaked. All the zippers seal well and the bibs offer a bit of extra protection from water dripping down your back. Even the coldest, gustiest winds don't stand a chance.

The weight (or lack thereof) and lack of insulation makes these great for touring, although there are some extra cold days at the resort that I wouldn't mind a thicker/warmer shell. It's not really an issue as long as I plan ahead and layer well.

These are definitely a pair of swishy pants, and people will hear you coming.

Fit is slimmer, like much of Arcteryx's line. Great for skiing, skinning and moving around.

All in all, great pants. Like all of Arcteryx gear, you'll pay more but you'll get more.

When you buy an Apple computer, you know what you're getting. TOP notch build quality, beautiful design and impeccable performance. Same can easily be said for Arc'teryx products, these snowboard bibs included. However, a few minor design decisions and one glaring oversight exposed after a few outings prevent me from making these pants the greatest of all-time.

Pros:

Arc'teryx construction

Heavy duty reinforcement around high-stress areas

110% waterproof

200% windproof

Cons:

No side pockets AT ALL

No buckles on bib straps

JUST a shell, no insulation (can be argued that this is by design)

Expensive

The lack of side pockets on these pants are the single (and only) frustrating feature of these pants. I think it goes without saying that ANY pair of pants should have side pockets. After taking these pants out for 3 or 4 outings, I can't remember how many times my hands have instinctively reached to the side trying to pull out a trail map and been met with disappointment that, yeah, there are no pockets!!

There are however two very small zippered pockets towards the top of the bib, pictured in the product photos. They're great for holding a tiny wallet (ya NEVER want anything hard or sturdy in a pocket between the ground and your body god-forbid you fall directly onto your chest and the camera or radio or iPod cracks your sternum). However, they're useless for anything else!

Because this product is a bib, these two pockets are placed very high, which means if you want to access anything in these pockets to have unzip your shell, unzip your inner vest/fleece, pull-up your pullover, then get at the pockets. Extremely inconvenient.

Really wish there were buckles on the bib straps as well, very difficult to have to go number-two in these pants and be forced to strip off everything you're wearing over it just to take off the straps and pull down the pants.

Front zipper runs very high up onto the chest, so again, having to go to the bathroom involves an awkward reach up under your pullover to unbutton, then unzip.

With all this said, there's no doubt in my mind that these pants can be wrapped around 4 pounds of dynamite, detonated and come out the other end in returnable condition. Construction on these pants is heavy-duty and top-notch. Arc'teryx took care to really fortify the heels of these pants, lots of scuffing and scraping on this often exposed area of the pants can really take a toll.

Great pair of pants, would definitely recommend to a friend accompanied by a stern warning of "be prepared to work around the lack of pockets and high zippers and you're all set!"

Got these for my husband. He totally loves them. Snow does not get into his pants, keeps his toosh warm!!

Honest reviews on Arc'teryx Theta SV Bib - Men's

Because these pants have a slim cut, they are not combersome and make great ice and mixed climbing apparel. They are always waterproof, windproof, and have been fully abrasion resistant for a few years of heavy use. This is the best made pair of winter shell pants I have ever had or seen!

Overall I have been very pleased with my Arc'teryx Theta SV Bibs, and have considered purchasing a second pair for when the day comes that my first pair needs to be retired.

Activities: I have used these bibs for many mountaineering trips, ice climbing trips, and countless days of skiing.

Fit: I love the fit of the bibs. I am 155 lbs., 5'-9" tall and have a 30" waist, and 30" inseam. I bought a size medium, and have found the fit to be great.

Function: There are many aspects of these bibs that I really like. One of those features are the full length side zips, which I often partially zip down from the top when looking for extra ventilation. The built in gaiters are also very effective at helping keep snow out.

Waterproofness/breathability: I've tried various types waterproof material, and have not found a product that does a better job keeping the water out while also being breathable than Gore-Tex. The fact that these bibs are made with Gore's most durable and rugged waterproof breathable fabric (Gore-Tex Pro), makes these bibs very capable to withstand the hard ware-and-tear I expose them to.

Durability: I have had these bibs for over 3 years, and they still perform like they did when they were new. Just remember that like any Gore-Tex waterproof fabric, it does need to be maintained properly (i.e. cleaned and treated with DWR).

Construction: Superb, which is consistent with any other Arc'teryx product I've seen or owned.

These are a great pair of bibs that whether it is a bitter cold day of ice climbing, or a warm spring day of skiing, they are my go-to shell.

As a disclaimer, I am a "Gore MountainTech" and test products for Gore.

great tactile feel and ideal for above 20 degrees. Below 20 degrees I would recommed a thicker more insulated glove. Grip on fingers have not fallen off and are still tacky after 2 months of use.

I really like these gloves. I got them last fall and they've been completely worth it. They're perfect for football games late in the season, bike riding, and I think most of all, for winter mornings so you don't have to deal with that freezing cold steering wheel all the time.

As for the grips, a thin layer does fall off but what's left still works a little. I personally don't experience much of a difference without them. I got them to keep my hands warm and they're very good at it. If a really good grip is something you can't live without though, try something else, that's really not what these are for anyway.

Best Deals for Outdoor Research Men's PL 400 Gloves

I used these for skiing but had to wear another glove over them to keep my hands warm. They were advertised as gloves or liners but really the latter is more accurate.

Honest reviews on Outdoor Research Men's PL 400 Gloves

I know I am a lady writing a review on a man's glove. I have long slender hands, to long for most womens gloves. I also run marathons and have raynaud's syndrome(which is when your blood vessels contract alot more than a normal person, when your hands get cold...they get very cold, numb and then turn blue) With the above criteria I was looking for a slim glove that would work. These fit the bill. They are warm, not to warm though for running or any other vigorous activity. Would I recommend them for my husband who is outside all winter...no. Not warm enough for that. But they work for me very nicely. If your looking for a glove to quickly do something outside...bring in the wood, pump gas, or other chore that would last about an hour or two...these do nicely. Any longer, go find another glove.

These are warm. But. The silicone pads are super tacky they don't provide grip so much as stick. That'd be fine if they lasted. But after less than a week of wear, the pads on half the fingers are ripping off.

Liked the gloves a lot. Strong, didn't tear up with all the rough terrain I deal with. They were well vented gloves, which made them good for outdoor 100+ degree work. Unfortunately, they fell out of my pocket somewhere out in the desert after a couple of weeks of ownership. I'll update when I get my next pair.

UPDATE: Ordered another pair, and this set I have yet to lose. I've been using them in the field for 2 months now.

First, the gloves have broken in, but show no signs of wear. They're comfortable, very warm in spite of being no where near as thick as a winter glove, and it seem that they're very durable. After climbing hills, falling down, sliding on gravel there's no sign of these gloves starting to fail. All the stitching is in place, the fingers are still intact, the velcro closure on the wrist (which it a common failure for me in the tactical glove arena) is as good as new.

After the break in, I can easily draw and fire my service weapon, with no thought to the fact that I'm wearing gloves. As of now, I'm a huge fan. I'll update again as we get to the deep part of winter. Seriously considering updating to 5 stars, but that's something that I don't take very lightly.

UPDATE #2: So it's dead of winter, and these glove are good til 40 degrees. Which I find amazing, being so thin and light. Below that, I go to my stand by winter gloves. But, as a cold weather glove they do way better than I expected them to do. And I will add, in wet weather, they preform very well, with excellent grip and traction. They are not weather proof, but they still allow your hands to function in the cold and the rain. These are fantastic gloves. And after 4 months in the field, minimal signs of wear. They're gonna last a while, or until I lose them again. But I will put in my order for a new pair the day that happens. This a five star product ladies and gentleman. 5 Star.

Batman told me these are great. A flexible shell with rugged grip on the inside, double stitching all the way around, and it fits a large hand quite snugly. The tip of the index finger is covered with a softer material that allows for use of high tech toys. Neat pull tabs allow for easy donning, and of course, the look was just his style. I agreed on all points. Keep in mind, no knuckle protection here!

Personally, I think the index finger sleeve is just a bit too long for my taste, but luckily it doesn't fight me for the trigger guard. It may or may not for you. Just don't expect any cold protection, this is not that type of glove.

This shirt gets constant compliments. I bought it because I thought it looked so COOL with the green spider web, but it's also a great performance shirt. It's comfy, soft and warm. I wear a sports undershirt underneath, and it's great for cold weather sports, like cross-country skiing or ice skating. I wear a women's medium, so I bought a men's small, and it fits really well (the hip-area is stretchable!).
