The socks are awesome! You can wear them without having the finger shoes. The extra piece on the heel makes it better than the original socks that came out because it prevents the shoe from rubbing the ankle raw.

These are actually the performance series. The outdoor series are made from primarily NuWool. But I do own a pair of these performace socks and love them with my Vibrim Five Fingers!

I used these in my barefoot trail runners in Iceland this summer (mind you, their summer is 47 degrees F). They were lighweight and warm, and kept my feet toasty without sweating. I bought the small ones, and usually wear women size 7.5-8.
