Not only is the Flex a fantastic jacket, Sierra Designs is a fantastic company. I bought the Flex jacket a year ago, and used it for some heavy winter camping in the upper peninsula in Michigan. The weather got down to five below and I remained toasty and warm. When I got home from my trip I did something very stupid... I attempted to wash my down jacket without looking at washing instructions. I completely ruined it. All of the down filling sunk to the bottom of the jacket, losing all of its heat retention. This malfunction had nothing to do with the manufacturer. It was more a malfunction of my brain. With that being said I still sent my jacket into Sierra Designs with a very honest note telling them how I goofed up. I was not expecting them to do much since it was my mistake after all. About a week after I sent the jacket in I got a call form Sierra Designs telling me that they tried fixing my jacket but it was beyond repair. Much to my surprise they said they are going to send me a brand new jacket. Everyone who I talked to was extremely kind and eager to help. In summation I would not only recommend this jacket, but I would also recommend supporting a fantastic and helpful company.

The jacket is an excellent fit, not a marshmallow puff monster at all. Handy pockets, fleece lined. Comfortable and warm insulated hood. It's actually 750 fill down, right off the manufacturer's tag.

It was sized a little smaller than I hoped but it still fits, just a little closer than I wanted it to be. I absolutely love the way it seals at the neck line and the way the tufted hood fills in the empty space that can keep a hood less than effective. The materials are superb and it is plenty warm especially in heavy wind.

A very comfortable jacket which fits well. The higher neck collar traps heat efficiently and a scarf is no longer needed. Coat is well made with 750 down, end of zipper is covered so it does not irritate the skin. Love it.
