I received this helmet two days before hitting the slopes and taking my girlfriend for the first time. She wore it for the first half of the day and loved it and once she went to the lodge, I took it for the rest of my runs and it worked great. It fit snugly, was very comfortable, worked well with my Smith goggles and kept my ears warm. For the price, I highly recommend this helmet.

I bought this helmet in preparation for my first ever ski trip. Cognizant of my lack of experience and the ensuing likelihood that I would be falling over frequently, I figured that the cheapest helmet out there probably wasn't a good idea. At fifty four bucks, the Giro worked quite well, keeping my head (as far as I can tell) undamaged, and me not looking like a complete idiot on the slopes. In fact, the helmet actually looks quite cool.

There are a few pretty minor negatives though.

-First, after removing the stickers which came on the helmet there was an irritating residue which wouldn't come off with anything. It permanently changed the finish of the helmet, leaving a few glossy shapes.

-Second, the chin strap pad is extremely cheesy which isn't really congruent with the high quality of the rest of the product.

-Finally, the helmet doesn't come with any of the pads which others do to allow you to customize the fit. For my head it fit perfectly front to back, but side to side there was some movement. 2 bucks worth of foam which adheres to the sides would have fixed the problem.

Overall I am quite pleased and I would certainly recommend this to a friend of mine!!
