The gnar hoody is a nice jacket and has kept me warm in temperatures down to the 30s with moderate winds and hail. It is also very comfortable and very light. It fits well under my REI Taku jacket. However, the zipper(s) are rather flimsy and might be plastic... I mean if I pull the zipper too hard I feel as though I will break it. The included stuff sack also leaves a lot to be desired and they might as well just exclude it. However, aside from the stuff sack and zipper, the jacket does a very good job. The extended sleeves and thumb holes are awesome, and are the main reason I purchased it. Would be a five star jacket with a solid zipper.

Best full zip down hoody you can buy. The jacket is so light it's like wearing air. The fabric feels very durable. The fit has great room for undergarments but close enough to the body to retain heat. The hood works very well at warming your noggin with precious heat that would normally escape through the collar. The hood fits a little loose though, but you can always throw on a shell to lock it down. Using the thumb holes works pretty well at warming the hands. The down is stuffed generously with no flat spots, as is often the case with many name brand jackets. With a base and mid layer underneath, you will be comfortable on the coldest peaks in the Sierras. Comes with a stuff sack, but I use a slightly larger one for convenience while taking it in and out of the pack. To be honest you can find a better quality jacket on the market, but not in this full zip hoody config.

Very lightweight. Love the hood. I use it for around town. It's warm into the upper 30's or so. Beyond that and you need more layers. I've put it away for the rest of winter since MN is now too cold for this jacket on it's own. Broke out the heavier Down and goretex jackets for the rest of winter. But will be able to use it again next March.
