I hike a lot and have large strong thighs which give me a non-traditional male build. This makes finding clothes that fit and move with my body difficult. I have been wearing kilts to solve this. After my wife chided me on how much lighter her skirts were than my kilts, I tried on a hiking skirt and loved it. It is light and gives me the leg room to comfortably walk up the nearby mountains. Since I do most of the shopping, now we both often hike in the same outfits.

Over the years I purchased several ISIS skorts and love them. Great fabric, perfect for travel and casual business, and nice tailoring. Most ISIS skorts/skirts have internal-fit-adjustment-tabs in the waistband (perfect if you have skinny waist and bigger hips). The JILLAROO skirt does NOT have this feature (despite it being listed in the product description). I also found that the waist-to-hem length on a size 4 is about 16" (not 17").
