It is pretty much a fact of life that small pebbles are incredibly irritating when they unerringly find their way into your running shoes. Many developed trails use this stone and by and large it is great to run on, but not when it gets between your feet and the shoes. I had considered getting some gaiters for a long time, but never pulled the trigger until buying the large/x-large set of these.

On the plus side, they work well. I have size 12 extra wide shoes and these gaiters are a snug fit, but they do fit. The snugness actually seems to provide some additional support to my generally weak ankles. It's tight fitting over toes putting them on, but not too bad. The straps that go under the shoe are equally tight fitting, but the quality of the product seems to indicate that they do not suffer when stretched to put on. And most importantly no nasty pebbles in my shoes.

The downs side is just really me and being lazy, I would love to just throw on my shorts, a tee and run. But no, I have this whole freaking getup that I have to deal with, what with between the bluetooth heart strap, the bluetooth headphones and the blaze orange whatnot I wear to avoid being shot or run over. Not to mention the accoutrements for my running companion, a beagle/shepherd mix. So, this is just another thing to put on, but I will, because they work and are worth it.

I bought these for my first mud race (just a little 5K, not TM). They did a great job of keeping rocks, twigs, etc. out of my shoes. I wore tall socks, so no issue with rubbing either. They weren't uncomfortably tight and I didn't notice them at all when running, climbing, etc. Great product for the price.

Excellent garment and fits perfect (size L, and I'm 5.9 feet tall). It is the perfect combination with the Asics Fujitrail Racer shoes, specially if you run on wet or rocky ground. The Fujitrail series is the best for trail running.

On the other hand, the product was delivered before date offered. That's why Amazon is really awesome!!!

This gaiter ripped on the first trip. Amazon refunded the purchase and I then made the mistake of ordering Liberty Mountain Ankle Gaiter. The zipper on those gaiters is too fragile and broke after about 8 hikes. I am gaiterless at the moment.
