I've done a lot of swimming over the years and never gave my goggles a second thought. I've always just used the $5 pair from the local convenience store that I would then replace every couple years. I've owned these goggles for about a year now and I happened along on them after reading about them online as I started training for triathlons. I was very skeptical that goggles could be improved on much. My thoughts were always if a $5 pair of goggles keeps the water out, why spend any more than that?
Well, these goggles provided the answer to that question. These goggles definitely pass the keeps the water out check box, but they do so with a much more comfortable and softer rubber. The rubber also has a rounded shape around the base that gives them a little bit of spring when sitting on your face. The lenses are also polarized so you can see through the water a lot better. Both of these attributes make swimming laps in the pool more enjoyable, but are also great features to have if you compete in triathlons. The soft rubber compound gives you some protection when swimming with several people around you if you ever get hit in the face and the polarized lenses makes sighting the swim course easier.
After a year of use, the goggles have held up well and the rubber is still as soft as when I bought it. I've enjoyed using it for the past year and will continue using them for as long as they hold up.
The only downside and the only reason it lost a star is because of the bridge design (the part over the nose). It is not adjustable as it is with other goggles I've had and so the width of the bridge is fixed. If it doesn't work for you, there is nothing you can do about it. Fortunately for me, it is just the right size. For your own reference, I have a larger head and wear a fitted hat size of 7 and 5/8. I would recommend trying one on before buying though to check the fit.

They actually don't leak and are comfortable. I wear them in the pool and for triathlons. I'd also suggest buying FROG SPIT anti-fog because its the ONLY thing I've tried that actually works in the pool, lake and ocean! Good luck...Best Deals for TYR Special Ops Goggles - Men's
I picked these googles for three reasons in order of importance and was pleased across the board:1. I needed googles that would leave marks on my eyes/cheekbones for the rest of the day. (I already have dark circles and didn't need extra attention added to that area). No problems with these googles, very kind to my face.
2. I needed polarized googles as I swim outside, great for this!
3. I usually pick women specific googles and have found that to be unnecessary. I LOVE these. And they are really great colors as well.

I love these. They're the most comfortable goggles I have. I'm using them to prep for Ironman Coeur d'Alene, and have been using them for all my open water swims. They definitely fog up,but if you use an anti fog spray it's no problem. I love that they're really secure (important as I'll be swimming with lots of arms and legs around/on me) but feel fantastic. Absolutely no leak issues and sometimes I have that problem with other goggles (nosepiece being too wide).Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for TYR Special Ops Goggles - Men's
Know what you plan to use these for. For open water swimming they are awesome, especially when combined with Jawz Spitz anti-fog spray. The red tint lenses work great in any weather. Sighting land objects is great. The seal is soft but reliable. For open water I absolutely love them.Just don't expect the same performance in a pool. Use different goggles in a pool. These will lose their seal when you push off the wall and will make underwater vision distorted in a pool.
