Bought these for my hubby, myself and my 12 year old son for Bow hunting & archery practice. These are hands down the BEST armguards we've ever tried.

1) Lightweight

2) Tough (made of some kind of material/fabric with some tougher stuff underneath)

3) fits on bare arms OR over bulky clothing

4) one size fits all! Easy pull straps to adjust & tighten or loosen. Fits me (I have a big arm) my hubby and my youngest 12 year old son who is quite skinny, so we can exchange and use these as we want

5) no need to unbuckle to adjust, but you can if you want to

6) CAMO mossy oak pattern

7) breathable air holes, makes it lighter and cooler.

OVERALL, we've had others made of leather, vinyl, etc.. this is hands down the best one we've ever tried. Do not hesitate to use it, we purchased two and thinking about one more. Protects are arms while shooting, even my husband who is wholly into bows and hunting said "you did good honey" when I got these for him and my son as a gift. ;-)

NO CONS! Unless you'd want them in another pattern, that is the only cons I could even try to think of.

9/9/2012: Update, just ordered a third one for my 25 year old son, as he bruised/scrapped his inner forearm a couple days ago shooting his bow. He sent me a photo of it, so he's getting this as a gift from mom ;-)

It is 7-Inches long and concave (rounded over) at both ends so that even if the bow string hits the end edge it should slide up and across the guard rather than dig into the end of it.

It does a great job retaining loose and bluky clothing so it stays out of the way of the bow string. Goes on easily with one hand. Has 3 small plastic buckles with elastic straps that can be cinched tight. The straps can be loosened with one finger by pulling the buckle up and forward, then just two fingers to release each buckle. Soft and can been rolled up tight to fit in a pack.

I have used this armguard over my fall jacket and bulky winter jacket. Love it! Have not tried on a bare arm; don't know if it might be too hot in summer weather.

This was a nice arm guard and I really liked the pattern, but I have small arms (I'm about 100lbs). Even with a sweatshirt on, this wouldn't adjust small enough to be snug on my arm. Had to return it. Great, but not recommended for smaller people/youth.

Honest reviews on Tarantula Sleeve Wrap Armguard (Camo)

When I first got into archery I decided I didn't need an arm guard. After about 2 months of bruised forearms I decide I needed one after all. Unfortunately for me I went with a cheap one from Walmart. Actually, in the 2 years since then I have gone through several cheap ones from Walmart. Maybe 6 or 7. So I figured that I would spend a little more money on a better product and see how it fared in comparison.

Answer: Awesome!

This thing is a gauntlet. It is well made the padding is just thick enough to protect your arm, but thin enough to not mess up your shot. The elastic straps give just enough to prevent you from using this thing as a tourniquet. That said, the quick release clips are a nice feature but kind of mess up the smooth lines of this thing. Just my opinion.

My only complaint and it is minor is that there are no other colors available. Come on guys, does EVERYTHING have to be camouflage? I like camo as much as the next guy, but choices are a good thing.

Bottom line. Good value for the money and has held up well (still looks like new) after 2 months of heavy use.

This guard is great! It is big, so there is no possibilty of the string slapping your arm, and it can be adjusted to go over thick clothing, but you can still adjust it to just go on your bare arm. I do not hunt, but I think hunters will like the camo.
