I'm between an XXL and XL, so the XXL is a bit large in the shoulders. The fit through the arms and waist is good. I'm quite tall and the jacket is long enough to feel comfortable, unlike many waist length jackets that are just too short. I bought the jacket for a trip to Alaska, so I wanted a coat that was water proof. This coat proved it's worth because if rained most of the days we were there. I stayed nice and dry, as well as warm. The water would bead up on the fabric and never penetrated to the inner side of the jacket, as will often happen with water "repellant" material. The outer material does have a slick feel to it and it's lined with a fleece-type material on the inside, including the hood and sleeves. The jacket has two deep pockets inside the front that are large enough to hold my camera, GPS, binoculars and more; however, there are no fasteners at the top of the pockets to secure the items stored in them. The hood is made large enough to accommodate a liberal politician's head, allowing it to provide more than adequate protection from the rain. The cost of the jackets varied according to the color, I chose the red plaid because it was the least expensive but I am not into making a fashion statement. I just want comfortable, durable and something that meets the requirements of the weather and this jacket met those criteria.

Perfect for everyday use and mountain use. Has a nice inner fleece. perfect fit. Wish it had more pockets but that's not a big deal. If the other jacket colors were the same price I would buy them all.
