For years I have had dark stains around the chambers on the face of the cylinder of my stainless steel GP-100. It doesn't take much to put them there. No matter how much I scrubbed with a steel brush and different types of solvent, I could make the surface smooth to the touch, but the stains remained. This cloth got rid of them almost instantly and with little effort. I was amazed. I feel like I'm in some detergent commercial, but it really does do a great job. My 20-year old gun looks new. I highly recommend it for stainless steel firearms. I have not tried it on blued guns and do not intend to because of both a warning on the package and a posting I had read that said that this cloth will remove the bluing. But it makes short work of lead and fouling on stainless or in the bore.

These "lead away" cloths are ideal for cleaning the cylinder of your stainless steel revolver. Revolver enthusiasts know that carbon has a tendency to build up on the front of the cylinder in particular, and it can be very difficult to remove, requiring time and elbow grease. Stainless steel revolvers in particular really show this carbon, which needs to be removed after each shooting outing. These cloths really expedite this process, leaving the cylinder looking bright and clean. Do NOT use these cloths on a blued gun--it will remove the bluing. But for a stainless steel firearm, these are essential. Recommended. RJB.

I have used this product many times in the past, for many different applications. It works, it always works, and I dont believe it could be improved upon. If you are into guns like me, this is a rare product that can actually leave a stainless revolver CLEANER THAN FACTORY NEW. A revolver is packaged/shipped with "burn rings" still on the out cylinder, which is the residue left over from a factory test fire. Lead away cloth will quickly remove the burn rings, making that outer cylinder shine like a mirror! A quick rub-down over the rest of the frame will have that stainless finish shining like a new dime. It's not just for firearms, try it on watches, jewelry, gold, copper, whatever. It works as well as any jewlers cloth, and I have never seen anything damaged by using it. Great product at a great price. I just replaced a piece I have been using since the EARLY 90'S, and as long as you store it in an air tight bag (sandwich or freezer style) it will stay soft and potent. I cant say enough about this cheap and simple polishing/cleaning solution.

Another 5 stars! My S&W 357 is about 11 years old. I've only fired a few hundred rounds through it in all that time. I thought the front of the cylinder was supposed to be black until I started to clean it with this cloth. It was 90% clean after a little rubbing and took some extra elbow grease to make it look like "new". It also helped remove residue from around the forcing cone more easily than using a brush with a cleaner. Miracle product! I wear gloves when using the cloth because I don't know how toxic whatever the miracle ingredient is.
