First, the short is available in extra small which fit my 36.5 inch hips very snugly. The massaging effect of the snug fit through the hip was important to me as my hips ache from over 30 years of running. The construction of the short, i.e. side and rear seam positions, seem to enhance the fit. The weight of the fabric too seems a good compromise for support and comfort while running certainly in the cooler temperatures I've worn the short.
The rear centered pocket is a fine addition. Its size allows me to carry my phone with me without an arm band or waist style pocket. I can set the running app to track my run and easily hear the updates if I am not in traffic.
A seemingly incidental addition is the diamond shaped gusset. This 3.5" long and 1.5" wide gusset is key to the comfort of this snug fitting short. Other fitted shorts while not as snug as the Sugoi can be uncomfortable because of rubbing from the intersection of the seams.

Needed comfortable shorts with pocket to carry my gels for 1/2 marathons. Easily fits 3 honey stingers, key and money. Biggest pocket I've seen to date. Fabric and construction great, feels like running naked.
