these tights are everything I want them to be. I prefer wool year round and have worn these in 90 degree weather and in 30 degree weather (long socks in the cold). The tights fit true to size, and don't bunch or chafe anywhere. I liked my first pair so much I bought a second pair.

update: The tights have done well to low 20's. Icebreaker ski socks work well to keep me warm below the knee.

One thing, though anything of weight (like my phone) in the back pocket makes my tights slide down. I wear the mediums and am 64 inches tall and weigh about 130. I am built like the former sprinter I am. I do wear the tights "commando" so that may contribute to the sliding. I just use a spibelt for the phone and no worries.

Icebreaker is one of my favorite brands. I want to love these crops so much but a few tweaks need to be made. The main issue is that they are somewhat see-through. Any stretch to the material and one can partially see your skin. I held them up to light and a fair amount of light filters through (much more so than my Lululemom Groove crops), not exactly what I want in pants. So, I would recommend sizing up to minimize stretching (I normally wear a medium and a large in these fit well). I love that there is a zip back pocket but it sits over one's rear. So if you sit down you may end up sitting on whatever is in the pocket. It'd be better if the pocket were more in the waistband. And I wish the waistband in back were an inch higher. The pros: very comfortable, not itchy, non-stink, great length, I like the reflective detail at the right knee, and I like that there is a zip pocket. Overall, I am borderline if I want to keep these due to the see-through issue.

I love Icebreaker products but these tights didn't work for me. I generally wear a Medium in Icebreaker bottoms but ordered these in Large because of the reviews that suggested ordering up to avoid show-through. The Large was too big overall and much too big in the waist so I re-ordered in Medium, which was still too big in the waist. I couldn't bend forward without these sliding down in the rear and I imagine exercising in these would require constant adjustment.

On the plus side, the quality was great and I didn't find either size to be see-through.

I'm a size 14 so I ordered up to the XL which are roomy and comfy and still stay up. I tried sleeping in them last night and they felt a little itchy but I'm hoping that after a wash that will go away. I wore them to Pilates and they were ideal. I'm looking forward to using them in the hot humid weather of the tropics since merino is king in wicking and Icebreaker is the best of the best.

These are the 260 midweight pants that I was expecting. These pants are the perfect choice to keep legs warm while running in the Pacific NW winter rains. Highly recommend.
