I've used all the compression bags on the market (including Space Bags) and for packing, this brand is by far the best performing and durable. I use them for motorcycle trips and long business trips (so I need only a carry-on). Keep in mind "compression" equals wrinkling if the clothing items are not knit. These bags are also great for your dirty laundry, takes up much less space and wrinkling doesn't matter. Don't use them for packing underwire bras, the rolling of the bag during compression will damage them.Best Deals for Eagle Creek Travel Gear Pack-It Medium/Large Compression Sac Set
I am using this product to compress our winter coats so we can have more room in our bags. I tried this out last night and it works like a charm! I now have lots more space to work with in my suitcase! I first saw this in a travel magazine for a much higher price so I'm glad I was able to find it here for cheaper! Thanks for a great product & a great deal!Honest reviews on Eagle Creek Travel Gear Pack-It Medium/Large Compression Sac Set
These bags are fantastic! Very easy to use, and they do exactly what you need them to do. Compress large bulky items into smaller compressed and sealed ones. You pack them, seal them, and then roll them to release all air, and bada bing, bada boom! You're ready to go!Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Eagle Creek Travel Gear Pack-It Medium/Large Compression Sac Set
I purchased Two of these Eagle Creek Medium/Large sets prior to a trip I took to Europe this summer. I wanted to pack "light" as far as number of bags, because, lets face it, who wants to pay the extra money for checked luggage? (I have a pretty standard carry-on and the large fits in pretty snug the medium has a little more wiggle room.) These bags worked like a charm. I actually only had to use two (1 medium and 1 large, as opposed to all 4) to fit all my clothes that I would need for touring and the conference I would attend. I was easily able to fit clothes for a variety of functions for the 8 day trip (some days I needed multiple outfits)Notes:
The bags were quite simple to use, though not really amenable to "rolling" the air out. I found it worked best if I kneeled on the bag to press the air out. This didn't bother me, but it is something to note.
Also, it works best if you fold your clothes "flat". I tend to fold my clothes in smaller, but fatter bundles, but for these bags if you want to fit more in a suitcase, its better to fold sleeves in, then fold the shirt in half. For pants I folded them in thirds. With this method I fit all my clothes (shirts/pants) in the large bag, and socks/underwear/jacket in the medium.
The yellow clip for sealing the bag is handy, but if you loose it, no biggy, this is basically a giant ziploc (all be it with heavier material and one way air vents) you can close it with your fingers with only slightly more effort.
Thats all I can think of for now. I would definitely recommend this product, in fact, I purchased some as a gift for another.
I give only four stars because I am very stingy with fives, and because I have only used them for the one Europe trip (though that included packing and unpacking several times), however, I travel several times a year, so I will update after I have used them a few more times.
