The Mat Sleeve is more like a piece of luggage than a typical yoga mat satchel. It is solidly built with a structurally defined tubular shape important for containing a 9 lb, 85" BlackMatPro. The MatSak looked a little flimsy to me and several reviewers complained about the zippers jamming.
Finally, this mat bag is very expensive; so it should approach perfection and potential buyers have every right to hear a critique, however slight, before spending that much money:
1. The bag color "Thunder" is not exactly as pictured. You must view it at Manduka's website. It is mostly dark grey with navy blue accents and trim. You will see all of the navy blue accents in Manduka's photo; the rest of the bag is dark grey. IMO the bag looks really good.
2. The "Large" bag is not exactly 30" long. Tugging on both sides measures 29" leaving about 1.5" excess on each side of a 26" mat. The diameter is 6.25" as claimed. Bottom line is roll your mat tightly and work it into the bag. It doesn't drop-in and there's not much wiggle-room.
3. A side handle would have been nice. The only way to carry it is with the shoulder strap.

I went out on a $$ limb by buying this but could not be happier. As a yogi that practices 5-7 days a week I needed a go to bag. My bags before were awkward and took too long to get my mat in and out of. Plus extra storage was hard to find. This is the perfect bag for my regular sized Manduka mat. It has a little room to spare so I usually throw my t shirt in as well and the side zipper pocket which features another pocket is excellent for keys, phone, miscellaneous.Being water proof helps the wear and tear. It is super easy to clean and the vents help keep my mat air fresh.
The padded shoulder strap is extremely comfortable and almost makes my mat seem weightless! Which is hard to do!
By far a must for serious yoga practicers.
I'd give it more stars if I could!

I bought the small and couldn't be happier. Looks even better in person than it does online. Expensive though. I got it because my nylon sleeve was just too difficult to use. This company has great customer service. I purchased this bag and after a while one of the plastic clips on it broke. When I called the company for a replacement, they said they ran out of them so instead they just sent me a whole new bag quickly and without any hassle and at no cost to me. I was so happy. I take yoga because I stress out a lot and I thought this was going to just add more stress to my life, but they made it easy, free and fast. The size small works well with my 24 inch width mat. For me I can easily fit my mat, AND a travel towel, a yoga strap, a pair of shorts and a sports top in the main compartment. But I like thin mats. If you use a thick mat there will probably only be room for the mat in the main compartment. The small compartment carries my phone, my wallet, and my keys. The matware sleeve is well made and sturdy and also has a few ventilation holes to allow the mat to breath some. The best part is how the bag opens. I purchased this bag to make it easier when I rode my bike downtown to yoga. I was looking for a white or almost white like bag. The "Camo" color, looked like a white or creamish color with a little bit of olive green as an accent color. When I received it, I was very disappointed to see it was mainly green with the only white color shown in the photo. The entire back and sides not shown are green.Other than the color, I was extremely pleased with the bag. For being the small bag, the size was great. Like another reviewer, I appreciated the u-shapped zipper so I didn't have to force the mat in at the top. I fit my Manduka Prolite mat and Yogitoes towel comfortably in the main compartment. I still had room for a t-shirt, hand towel, and yoga strap if I wanted to. There is a long external compartment that is great for your cell phone and keys...it even has a vent for your main compartment. The elastic zig-zag straps on the side are perfect for different sizes of water bottles. A++ on the design...everything I would have wanted for a quick commute.
I hope the company sees this review and includes photos of the back of the bag so you can see the correct color combination, especially for the bags that are not a solid hue. I wish I ordered the rose color, but it wouldn't be feasible to pay for the return shipping and then have to wait for the bag to return. I would have given it a hands down 5 stars if it was the color combination I expected. I give it 3 stars because the colors are misleading and there is not a simple way to exchange the purchase.
