So this is kind of the low-end for Icebreaker shirts. It's still that magic merino, all kinds of soft and wonderful thermal regulation. But it's also a bit looser weave. I held it up to the sun and did the same to another Icebreaker base layer and the other Icebreaker seemed more opaque. This one let a lot more light through. It also has a real tag in the collar, which is something I haven't seen in Icebreaker wear. Usually they have something screened in there. I wear the thing regularly as a t-shirt under my work clothes or as a base layer when riding my bike. For both of those uses it works just fine.
Oh, and just like other Icebreaker shirts, don't ever put it in the dryer. Ever. Hang it up to dry.

I bought this shirt after reading many other Icebreaker reviews. As a bigger active woman, I found that the largest women's Icebreakers are still too snug for me. I usually wear a womans XL or a 1X shirt depending on fit, so I ordered a men's XL and it fits perfectly. It's nice and long and the sleeves have a bit more coverage which I prefer. I wear my shirt everywhere, even to bed! Its especially great now that I'm in the "hot flash" stage of life, as it wicks away moisture and keeps me from getting clammy. This is a great shirt for hiking, biking, travel, sleep, and every day wear! I plan on purchasing a few more.

So far so good. Wore it hunting in 39 70 degree weather under a cotton shirt, and also under a chamois shirt. Warm in the morning, never got over overheated through the day. Washed in the machine on gentle, flat dried. Very pleased with all the results.

I ended up returning this item because it is not really a T-shirt. It is more like a base layer. The box refers to the item as under wear and not a t-shirt.
