Used this for a few trips. Worked well in a few cases when I fell. Looks very stylish.

The fit for me is perfect and I like its adjustability. The vent adjustments work very well. It is much lighter than my old, solid, unvented helmet. I have only used it during spring skiing so far. I suspect it will not be as warm in real cold weather as my old helmet, but will probably add a thin balaclava underneath when I need more warmth. I love the design as well.

This helmet has excellent fit adjustability and variable ventilation. It is the first helmet that I have ever worn and most of the time I could not even feel it. It is light and well padded. The brim (chimney effect) works well with my goggles and I did not steam up once. However, the one problem I had is at high speeds the brim catches air and pulls the helmet up. This is not a comfortable feeling. If I was to buy another helmet I would go for one without a brim but I would not hesitate to buy Smith Variant because everything else is perfect.

I got this helmet after my old giro helmet didn't fit the ole melon anymore. I've never owned a smith helmet before and honestly I don't think I'd own a different brand now. it's lightweight, feels sturdy, looks good, and most importantly I took a lick but got right back up cause of it. great product from smith.
