I am 50 year old runner/jogger. Just love these compression socks. Wear them even when not working out just because they feel good. It is winter time. Not so sure I will wear in summer. I bought 3 pair so that I have a match if one is lost or damaged. One pair did get past me and go through the dryer. They have lost some of their compression. SO Must NOt put in dryer. I do wash along with my other running stuff in a regular cycle.

I purchased these socks to train for a marathon after experiencing calf cramping on runs longer than 15 miles. I found that the socks did help alleviate the soreness in my calves, but where I found them most helpful was with my overall recovery after my long runs. My most recent marathon was a few weeks ago, and I had my best recovery ever, I think because I wore the socks during the marathon and for several days following the race.It has been cold where I train, but there have been a couple of warmer days on which I wore the socks, and they did make my legs feel a tad warm. I am not sure if I would continue to wear them to run on warm days, but definitely I will continue to wear them for recovery.
Also, I sized down. My calf diameter is a little over 12 inches, but I went with Size II and am very happy with the fit, not just in my calves but in the ankle and foot area. I guess the only drawback of these socks is their cost, but considering how much better my legs felt after my long runs, I thought it was worth the expense to get another pair.

I recently started running a few months ago and have built up some moderate-high mileage in that time. Due to my workouts, my legs feel super tired, especially after a long run. I knew that compression gear was really starting to get big, but I doubted the true effectiveness of it. Knowing it was supposed to increase the delivery of venous blood flow, I looked into the scholarly research (like a good graduate student should) and discovered that most people found it effective in relation to subjective terms although it didn't technically improve recovery when researchers checked for markers of inflammation.Anyways, Zoot socks are expensive! Luckily I bought mine off runnerswarehouse for a mere $40still pricey for socks, but it does sell retail for $60. After buying these, I can't imagine getting another cheaper brand since this is supposed to be the gold standard of compression socks.
I wear my Zoot socks after a long run when my legs feel achy and fatigued. The compression is not overwhelmingly tight, but I can honestly say it feels comfortable. It makes my legs feel lighter and a little tingly, but they always feel much better and less fatigued when I take them off. Placebo effect? Maybe, but it seems to work great for me. I'm considering buying another pair to work out in, but for now I use it primarily for recovery and not exercise. I don't wash mine after each use since I'm mostly lounging around in them anyway, but when I do I'll hand wash them and line dry to avoid losing compression.
Great product, I'd recommend to other athletes.
