I've tried lots of different compression socks (CEP, 2XU, SmartWool, etc...) and 2XU BY FAR has the best technology. No other manufacturer, to my knowledge, uses a web and weave pattern (it's usually one or the other)... To most people that doesn't mean anything... at least not the day that you put your compression socks ON for the first time... But as the months go on and the hours rack up, that hybrid weave pays dividends by allowing the sock to maintain it's original compression (saving you money in the long run)...

So you can find cheaper socks out there... But you'll get what you pay for.

I bought these for recovery after long runs and even tried using them during runs, but I found that in the foot area, they are extremely, extremely tight.

It's always such a relief to remove them and let my foot relax. The reason I still use them is because they do a good job of staying up on your calf and don't slide down your calf as you move around as much as some other types do.

It you are looking for REALLY tight socks, these will be great for you. If you just want mild compression for recovery or stability, this is not the sock for you.

My interest in compression socks is for air travel and support during long sits at the computer.

This is a great sock. It has some good competition though at about 1/2 the price.

In my opinion this 2XU Elite Performance sock is on par with the Recovery Sock (made by the same company that makes VitalSox both which can be found on Amazon and both which (besides the names) have the same website.

I like the 2XU weave and footbox. I had to go a size higher than 2XU recommended.

I like the Recovery Sock fabric and fit. The Recovery Sock fits a little higher on my calf up to the knee and I prefer the 2XU slightly lower height better.

So if you could find this on sale go for it otherwise I would try the Recovery Sock first.

I purchased this pair for hiking. After trying them out at work (I spend most of my day sitting), and at night, I took them on a couple day hikes. Compression and comfort were excellent. Unfortunately, however, the fabric split significantly under the heel of one of the socks (where the gray meets the black). As much as I liked the compression and fit, I cannot recommend a sock that will come apart like this.
