SUMMARY: comfortable and just right for light to moderate activity, even in the sun.

Their XL is size 10.5. My hands are 9.1" around the knuckles, but I have pretty square hands, so the XL is just the right size.

The stitching is decent, as is the ventilation. There are 4 foam pads leaving the center palm open and unrestricted. There are small vent holes in each pad, and under the fingers.

The top side is a spandex mesh, neon yellow, with some vinyl stripes on the outer edges.

The most important part is the webbing between the fingers. It's very comfortable. Nothing digs in, and it breathes well.

Lastly, the closure at the wrist a micro-hook and loop which is soft enough to not dig in, but grippy enough to not pull up in use.

The grip is slightly grabby, but not sticky, etc.

Best of all, the price is really good.

I wear them for cycling, and while the palm is a little warm to start, once riding, it all balances out and is just right.

I like these better than the Avenir brand gloves in the same pricepoint.

Just received these for my summer biking season. I was debating between LG and XL, after reading another review on here they suggested to get the larger size, and I agree with that. The LG would have been too small. So take that into consideration when ordering. Have fun, just keep pedaling.

These gloves keep the palms protected. Making for an easier grip on the bars Seemed kind 'a flimsy at first use but have proved to be good. They do stretch.

If you wear an extra-large glove then the double X is for you

Honest reviews on Pearl Izumi Men's Select Gloves

IN keeping with what a couple of other large-handed reviewers already pointed out, when in doubt (about how big your hands are) order the larger size. I took the time to visit Pearl Izumi's own website and scoped out their Sizing Chart, which clearly indicated (from measuring my own palms at their widest point = 9.5 to 9.75 inches) that I should purchase the XL size.

Wrong! The gloves -well-made, brightly colored and nice-looking as they are -are all around too snug for me. So much so, that I took the company to task regarding how misleading their Sizing Chart is for some (big) consumers. I also pointed out that the "Easy Removal Tab" touted in some promotional materials, is not a feature of the gloves I received. To their credit, Pearl Izumi's customer service wrote back with a very understanding email, in which they agreed the chart does not account for other factors such as wrist shape and finger size, and that some of the product descriptions I'd seen are obsolete. They suggested I consider returning the gloves through Amazon, which I thought about doing...

...however, I decided to stick it out, in hopes that these inexpensive gloves will stretch a tad. If not, I ride so infrequently that I might just "live with" the hassle of gloves that are difficult to remove and seem to diminish the circulation in my hands while riding.

But if you have big, beefy man-hands, even if you fall well within the XL designation, I suggest you go with the XXL size instead. Let's chalk this up to my own failure to shop wisely, and give the gloves a full 5 stars for quality at this price point.

The pair I bought were bright yellow and were on sale. It was a great deal on a very nice set of bike gloves.
