I got this at the PX on sale for about 20% off the price I see today on Amazon. It looked like a solid piece of gear, and I really needed the volume and the wheels. I thought it was perfect but a little use has revealed some flaws. First, the bag itself is heavy, probably about 8-9 pounds empty. Part of this weight are pads sewn into the sides and top, meant to provide rigidity to the sides and help the bag keep its shape. Problem is, the pads free-float within the compartments they have been sewn into, and tend to squish and fold, defeating their purpose and becoming dead weight. On my third trip using the bag, one of the rubber/plastic rails that runs the length of the bottom of the bag started to detach. Since these rails provide rigidity for the bag, its loss turned the bag into an unmanageable wet noodle. The fabric handle sewn into the end ceased to be of much use at that point, and pulling the bag became dragging the bag, despite the wheels. This fabric handle was never of much use anyway. Even before the bottom rail detached, trying to pull the bag using this handle was very awkward. It doesn't provide enough distance between you and the bag when walking, and it is sewn on too high on the bag, resulting in the bag contantly banging into the back of your legs as you walk along. I recommend getting a bag with a telescoping steel or aluminum handle, even if it means paying another $20-$50.

Great for organization and livability, Drag handle needs improvement. Wheels are good, but for overseas deployment you will be dragging this bag through gravel. So short of tricycle tires there is not a lot of room for improvement. The drag handle on the end should be lower to the ground. This would make this a 5 star product. The angle from the wheels to your hand will have the bags lower edge to close to the back of your knees to walk comfortably. This bag is fantastic once you arrive. All your gear is easily accessible. It holds a lot of stuff, I pack 70-80lbs with no problem. It just fits under a standard bunk so you may not to go to the extra large size. The journey from place to place is only a fraction of the trip.If you may be living out of your luggage for a year, This is a solid choice. If you add some of the accessories from the quick pack line, it's a matter of minuets to grab a few days worth of stuff for short missions. Overall a solid system, and well worth the money.
