I would like to start off by saying that I am not an EMT nor am I in the medical field. I am a machinist that has been looking for a quality pair of pants for my day to day. I wanted a pair of pants that would resist stains and fluids ( coolant and oils) and being Teflon coated these couldn't be more useful. The cargo pockets are just perfect for what I use them for. Inside both cargo pockets is a smaller pocket for items like rubber gloves, small notepads or a phone. On the outside of both cargo pockets is a pen holder sandwiched between two holders with Velcro straps. These would typically be used to hold medical sheers or tape. Well I use the to hold my mag light and pens. During my day I use up to 3 to 4 different types of pen i.e red, black, blue highlighters.....what have you. Both front pockets come with a reinforced bottom for the clip of a pocket knife which is most definitely utilized on my end. The rear pockets are huge, and angle down at around a 45 degree, this can also be a keen place to put a pocket knife. On the left side there is a smaller wallet pocket. I typically carry mine on the right, but I have been able to adjust. Its just easier to access than digging in the deep rear pockets. The snap button is of good quality and there is a secondary button like the kind one would find with a pair of dress pants, that would come in useful if the button were to come undone. I have no use for the knee pads that can be bought for them, but just know that on the inside leg, there is an area to insert knee pads. They are tighter around the ankle than I like, but it's nothing that my tailor wasn't able to fix. These are through and through designed for the EMT, paramedic, or EMS personnel, no questions, but if one opens his/her mind, they can actually be used for many purposes. Most importantly, they are just simply......comfortable. Hands down the finest pair of "work pants" I have ever owned, and I fully intend on picking up a few more pairs.

Even though I'm a female, I love these for all the pockets they have so I can fit all my Paramedic stuff plus my phone and wallet in the lower pocketsit's like going back to a flight suit. I like that the waist is reinforced for extra back support as well. A bit hot this summer but oh well.

I have had a pair of these 5.11 EMS pants for about 4 years now and they have held up great. Just recently they've been showing some wear but the pants were still in good stape. But last week I got paint on them and now there my junk work pants. I just ordered a new pair and I hope they're just as good as the last pair.
