I have had this hat for over a year now and I can't sing it's praise enough.

Pros:

1) Light weight

2) The best feature: it has internal metal wire lining along the brim which means that hat won't flop and droop most of these style hats that go through the wash and don't have this internal wire start drooping and become useless.

3) Quick drying

4) Quality manufacture none of the seems have even started to come apart after repeated use, stuffing in backpacks and repeated wash

5) An optional cord that hold that hat is actually removable with little clips!

6) The bran name on the hat is small and non-obtrusive a plus for me.

I bought this hat for my trip to costa rica. We were planning to be outdoors for much of the trip. I wore it almost constantly due to the fluxuating weather. We got trapped in a sever rainstormMy hat was dripping wet,but somehow my head was kept dry! It does what they claim, keeps bugs at bay, drys VERY quickly. Other hats ive worn in similar conditions perform like a sponge would. They get water logged, take forever to dry and retain that mildew smell until properly washed. This one is absolutly amazingIm going to buy a second one! You will not regret it!

This hat is everything I expected. Great protection from the sun. Long rear overhang to cover my neck. Surprizingly good protection from mosquitos.

The hat I received was neither the color nor the shape shown. I had already tried on the item at Paragon beforehand and would have bought it there, but they did not have the color I wanted. But when I received the so-called same hat I had seen at Paragon, with the same model number, I was surprised. It was a darker color and the shape was not the same, as the back of the hat extends back in a way that is not appealing at all, giving it a flappy appearance. Plus, there is no free return. I had to pay over $10 to return it, which is more than 1/5th the price. I felt ripped off.

It does keep the bugs off my head, but sometimes they fly in under the rim.

The only real complaint is the 2 plastic "thingys" that hold the string to the hat, at the top (brim). I wear glasses and they can tend to get irritating after a while. But other than that, a great little hat for keeping the bugs at bay.
