This tool is supposed to help you set up your clipless cleats on bicycling shoes. I already have a good cleat setup, but I used this tool to quickly and accurately copy my cleat position to a new pair of shoes. Without the tool, this process used to take me weeks of trial and error. The tool should also be great for installing new cleats when your old cleats wear out. The only negative is that you need different tools for every brand of cleats that you work with, but the tools are reusable and relatively inexpensive. 5 stars.

Setting up new cleats in my new cycling shoes has not been my favorite task, I found hard to have a solid reference with the rubber soles and it's always difficult to keep "loose" the bolts to have a soft grip and try to pedal, since when dettaching from the pedal sometimes moves your "ideal position", and also it's hard to adjust on the trail.

Don't expect too much science with this plastic cover, it's just a plastic case wiht lines and numbers, BUT, with the shape of you cleat, so be careful, this is very specific for each cleat standard. This, though simple, makes all the adjustment faaaaaaaaaaaaar easy, since you can put some reference lines, symetrical, on each of your shoes and begging the aligment and proper set up. The manual helps since it explais the ergonomics and provides you a start point. Please note, it does not have a chart saying, "This is your right angle according to your leg lenght, weight.....blabla", at some point you need some trial and error and some subjective appreciation to identify what should be your best ergonomic cleat position, but this is mainly due to the broad antropometry of all the human beings. For some this would be irritating, buy if you are patient, at least, when you find your proper location, then you can migrate your position to new shoes efforless.
