I've had these pants for a month of traveling through Europe now, wearing them every day (washing them in the sink every two or three days) and I must say that they are perfect for my purposes. They're comfortable, dry quickly, and have two discreet zipper pockets (the one of the right thigh is perfect for wallets/passports etc). They also don't look as shabby as most other nylon pants (no parachute texture, goofy-looking pockets, built-in belt or mesh underwear). Another nice feature is that they are warm enough for brisk days and cool enough for hot days as they breathe while being wind-resistant. These pants are great for people (like me) who don't always want to wear shorts when the weather is too warm for jeans.
For guys on the go who want to pack light and have a pair of pants for just about any occasion, these definitely fit the bill.

I purchased a pair of the slate and beige ExOfficio Nomad short length pants, wearing them exclusively for a 2 week summer trip across Spain. I chose these pants over some of the other ExOfficio pants as these are purely long-legged pants I don't care for the look of the "convertable" style pants with the zippers at the knees that turn the pants into shorts.
I washed them in the hotel sink every night. I found that if I would wring them dry, lay them flat on a dry towel, and then roll up the towel to collect additional surface moisture, the pants would be dry in the morning if left hanging on a towel rack or doorknob overnight. When I was in more humid climates near the Mediterranean (e.g. Barcelona), the pants were still slightly damp in the morning(though not uncomfortably so). I wore them anyway, and within 15-20 minutes in the sun, they were dry.
They did have some wrinkles after drying, though they didn't look nearly as bad as some of the other crepe/parachute material travel pants that are out there. Though they weren't dressy enough to be apporpriate for formal events/business meetings, you could get away wearing these at business casual to casual functions. The waist band has some elastic built in I would say the waist on these was slightly on the small size, but with the elastic waist it would expand into a 36"+ waist.
Bottom line: I was very pleased with these pants. I plan to purchase another pair or two.

Exofficio has a great product with these pants! The adjustable waist fits any of three sizes comfortably...I wear a 38 to 40 waist and it accomodates anything in between. They are very light weight, breathable and stain resistant...I've been caught in rain storms while fishing and these pants dry very quickly after a soaking. There are ample pockets though a little one sided. There are 4 pockets on the right side and only one on the left. I carry a number of items so i try to balance them so the right side doesn't become overloaded.

Bought for my Cruise. They worked perfect. Good to rent JEEPS in and go 4x4 yet dressy enough for dinner. Hold up excellent, look, feel, perform excellent, light very light but durable. Stain resistant believe me!!!! PERFECT!!!!
