After wearing the hard shell knee/shin guards for trail riding, decided to give these a try. Visited G-Form website, measured my knee and on their chart determined I needed a L. Ordered and when it arrived I tried them on and they were extremely tight and uncomfortable. Sent them back and ordered a XL. They fit just fine and I tried them out on a trail ride. No complaints about fit or comfort, but when I finished and took them off found both had thread failures around the top of the stretch material, something I don't think should be the case. Sending them back but also ordering a replacement pair in case I got a bad stitch job on this pair. Thus the rating of 3 stars, will revisit the review upon receipt and use of the new pair.

This product is great and has saved my knees how many times already. By the way I downhill skateboard if your wanting to know. But this can be used for all sorts of things. But the way these knee pads work is that they are normally soft like a cushion but upon impact at a relatively high velocity they become hard. This was proven before I crashed when I used a hammer and pummeled my knee countless of times. The only thing is that in my case you have to get off your knees as soon as you hit the ground or risk losing material as it scrapes away on the road. But great device for having the ability to move your knee around freely, thats breathable, able to put under jeans, and works as a great protection device.Best Deals for G-Form Knee Pads - Men's
I would strongly recommend these to the mountain biker that is not riding aggressive downhill or free-ride style huge jumps. The majority of the knee pads on the market will be overkill and/or too uncomfortable to even be considered by most riders. These pads are the ideal solution for the aggressive cross county / trail rider that needs additional protection with minimal sacrifice to comfort and movement.I initially tried a pair of POC VPD 2.0 Knee pads costing twice as much which offered significantly more protection but for my use-case this was overkill. The POC knee pads certainly did not provide all-day comfort and especially not under the typical Florida summer weather. The G-Forms delivered on all-day comfort, possibly even during the summer months for as much as one can otherwise reasonably ride during the heat.
I was right in the middle of sizing chart, ordered both and ended up keeping the smaller size. I experienced the "bunching" with the smaller size that some reviews mention but honestly I did not feel that was significantly detrimental to the comfort. The larger size did not bunch but I felt that the smaller size felt better. The pads stay in place and mostly out of mind while riding and did feel any need to adjust while riding. The summer heat will certainly make these more noticeable but this is likely as good as it gets with a set of knee pads.
