I am a boater and live in Florida so the skort part is perfect as the inner shorts are stretchy material and don't bind or get caught up when you walk. I have all the solid color versions of a similar "style" from Columbia (black, grey, white, green), am a 5'2", 119 lbs., and wear a size 4 in those. I can't fit in the size 4 of this printed style, way too tight, and just fit in the size 6 which is a little tight. There is an awkward bulge at the hips on both sides where the seams and the pocket meet, and it's too short for me to be comfortable in as I am an "older" active person. :-) I LOVE the material. I hope Columbia will improve on this, as the fabric is just awesome. I hope this was helpful.

Purchased these Columbia Armadale Skorts in both white and the printed blue. I took a chance ordering 1 week before my trip to Hawaii without knowing size/fit etc. Order was received with plenty of time and I was VERY happy with the fit and functionality of these skorts. I am 5'4, ~155lbs. Size 8 was perfect.

The shorts part of the Skort are like a thin spadex, so they stretch and conform to your body without being constricting and do not loose their shape. The skirt came down to around mid thigh, like shown in the picture. Fabric is stretchy and easy to hold in place when sitting. Skirt also kept it's shap very well. Even after miles of walking, climbing and getting in and out of tour busses and other transportation.

I am so happy with these skorts, I am planning to purchase a couple more. They are perfect for almost any summer activity from hiking, to walking around town, to working in the garden at home. Dress 'em up or dress'em down.

I own 5 Armadale skorts, and I like this one slightly better than the other 4. The reason is that the fabric is a little light and more breathable... something that is very important in Florida. The skort has two buttons on the side, that's it. There is not a badly designed zipper that catches your skin like most skorts. There are two reasonably sized pockets on each hip, and one small cargo-type pocket. The skirt is the perfect length for me, and the shorts are long enough to prevent chaffing and stay put while walking. I can't say enough good things about this skort...

Love the outer skort material and overall shape and look. I am 5'4" and 125 lbs and the size 8 was actually a little snug on me. The inner boy shorts are somewhat tight spandex without a whole lot of give.

I can wear them but just a bit snug. I do like them enough that I am keeping them, though I am also ordering a size 10 for my more bloated days!
