Review of prAna Living Men's Stretch Zion 30-Inch Convertible Pant

I first found these pants in the nonconvertible style at a local outdoors shop. I now own two nonconvertible pairs and two convertibles. If they made a navy blue color, I would own those as well. These are the most comfortable pants I've ever owned. They are like stretchy sweatpants that have the look of khakis (eh, khakis with cargo pockets and "larger-than-normal-khakis" back pockets). They breathe very well, do not need a belt (an internal cinching mechanism is provided) but they still have belt loops in case you want/need them. I would not wear these pants (convertible or nonconvertible) on very cold days, as they do breathe well and are ventilated...so they are not very warm in colder temps (say, below 50 degrees F). I have also gotten some stains on these pants and they washed right out with some minor scrubbing before they hit the washing machine.

I wish Prana would also make a model that does not have cargo pockets. I like the utility aspect of these pockets, considering these are traditionally rock climbing or pants meant for the outdoors, but I still want the comfort of these pants in slightly more formal settings like business casual days at work. I know that environment isn't exactly Prana's intended target, but this material and the fit of the pants would be perfect for the office. Also, I'm a big fan of these pants but the price is a bit steep.

Either way I can't recommend the pants highly enough. Note that they do run long and slightly large, though. I wear a 33 waist / 32 length jeans and in these Prana pants (convertible and nonconvertible) I buy a Medium-size waist and 30 inch inseam.

I've become a great fan of stretch material for men's pants and shorts. These pants are a newer version of a pair that I purchased six years ago (those pants are still in my closet, showing the durability of the product.

Good product as far as material quality goes. My only complaint is that they are a bit short. In the companies defense I am a tall thin guy so I'm sure it's just me. good product for the cost.

The fabric is super comfortable. And the front-access zippers on the cargo pockets are awesome! It's so convenient when accessing the pockets while seated (car, inside a tent, hanging off the side of a mountain in a harness...).

I didn't know about the extra zippers before purchasing these pants. Totally the best surprise feature I discovered.
