I was amazed when I first tried this mask. Before it arrived I was out shoveling; breathing freezing air that literally burned my throat and lungs. Even after coming back inside my lungs took awhile to return to normal. This was my motivation to try this mask.
With the mask same freezing temps but with the mask I had zero problems. No discomfort. I wear glasses and they didn't fog up!
The mask secures behind your head with Velcro it covers the ears. If the mask bothers the bridge of your nose they include a molded foam piece to fit on the inside of the plastic 'breather.' It does cover below the chin well, and partly not completely your neck. So, for me, there is still skin exposed but a scarf or turtle neck would cover that area. I might just have a longer neck?
The air flow is adjustable I keep it wide open and the air is still warmed sufficiently.
Of course you do look a bit like Darth Vader, but I think that's a plus lol!
Seriously for anyone who doesn't want to gulp in icy air and end up having burning lungs THIS is the mask to get.Too small for my head. Wish it would have worked for me. Also, it still makes my glasses fog up. Works better with googles.
