I bought the size 8 (youth small) for my very skinny 7 year old and they're great! There is a draw string on the inside which he needs because he is a thin boy. He's average height, but likes his shorts to go knee length and these do. They feel like a good quality short and have been crumpled on the floor and through the washer and dryer several times and still look new! No color fading or pilling in the shorts. Go Heat!
