My local Post Office lost this package, but Backcountry (thru Amazon) replaced it immediately at their expense. These pants seem to run just a little large in the waist, but inseam is perfect. Well constructed, light and comfortable. I have not gone hiking in them yet, but they are better than I expected. More than a month later, the original pkg showed at the Post Office showing that someone had opened the box and tried the pants on before returning them to the Post Office. Backcountry was extremely easy to work with and I returned these original pants for a smaller size.
I have worn these pants for two months now in numerous conditions. Hiking the Chugach Rannge in Alaska they are extremely comfortable in all conditions. They stretch in the knees and crotch but do not rub. They do a better job at deflecting wind they I thought they would. They shed water off plants excellently. They are very light, wash simply, and dry fast. I just spent 3 weeks on an Ice Breaker in the Arctic Ocean and these were my go-to pants on deck.
I have bought a second pair now and bought one size smaller. The 34" fits my 36" waist with a little extra, but a much better fit than the 36"...so they run large. The only (slightly) negative things to me are the small pockets. The thigh zip pocket has the most practical use and I wish they had these on both sides and get rid of the back pocket which is placed wrong for a wallet.
Great pants, well made, function better than described by manufacturer and I can see wearing them with polyprop long john's when the weather turns colder.The pants seemed nice except they were about 2" larger in the waist than advertised. I had to return them and didn't want to take the chance again on mail ordering pants that may not fit right.
