Ordered these gloves for Afghanistan (High Desert Mountains)and they fit a bit snug but break in to perfect size. They are not water proof or even water resistant. They are good for short exposure to harsh temps and wind and allow you to use hand tools, operate vehicles, zip up your jacket, etc. If you're looking for extreme cold or rain/snow/water, look for something else. If you're looking for a good fit and less extreme conditions they're great. I recommend these gloves for short duration, less extreme conditions where you need a little manual dexterity.T.Wall

These are not heavy duty (thick) gloves but for the occasional shoveling/sledding/driving they are perfect. Surprisingly warm for the thickness and very comfortable.Honest reviews on Outdoor Research Men's Gripper Gloves
I've had these guys for about 2 weeks and have worn them in 25ºF to 45ºF wet and dry weather. I bought them for moderate Massachusetts winters and late-fall bike commuting. Overall I'm happy, although one small hitch makes them not quite perfect for cycling.PROS: Surprisingly warm for a low-profile glove. Very lightweight and compact for storage in pockets. Good closure around wrists even though mine are skinny. Strap for pulling them on, which is helpful because the fabric is stretchy around the wrists. Easy to grab stuff with them on. Standard feeling of invincibility all good gloves bestow upon the wearer.
CON: There's a seam at the thumb/forefinger area that kind of hurts your hands if you're squeezing your handlebars with any gusto. It's not drawing blood or anything, but it causes short-lived soreness after about 30 minutes of riding.
