This product has a number of serious flaws. First and foremost the gloves do not keep hands warm under normal cold conditions. The liner which is some sort of synthetic fleece pile material quickly got packed down and lost is loft and softness. Second, despite several applications of waterproofing specifically for leather gloves, fingers get wet inside the glove further exacerbating the cold hands issue. Finally on snowy powder days I can actually feel snow leaking through the stitching on the cuff of the gloves. All things considered this glove is certainly not worth the money and is below the standard that I would expect from a manufacturer such as Black Diamond.

You could likely box in these gloves without much discomfort, they make me feel like I'm wearing tanks on my hands. It takes a little bit of use for them to break in and become more flexible, at first they are pretty stiff with little dexterity. I was surprised by how much they improved over time though. They are incredibly warm, windproof, waterproof, and even surprisingly breathable (the super warm fleece liner inhibits the breath ability a little bit).

I recently used these gloves on Mt. Rainier and I was in no way let down. I was very thankful to have them in the freezing rain.

I am a member of the Gore Mountaintechs community, therefore I sometimes receive and test gear for them. These gloves however were bought aside from this program and I couldn't be happier with their performance.

I just got back from a brief hike along a creek. Temps were in the single digits and my fingers were cold. I noticed that the waterproofing is built into the removable insulated insert. This is unacceptable because the glove itself allows water to leak inside the glove, further chilling your hands. The insulation near the palm is paper-thin, but is thicker on the backside of the hand. Grabbing hold of cold objects transfers the cold directly to your fingers. After spending so much money on these, they're getting returned tomorrow. I bought them because they have removable insulating liners, I like that for drying them, but these won't handle real cold that I frequently play in. These aren't worth the money.

I have owned these gloves for 5 years this March 2013. I have had a season pass at Bromley in Vermont for 6 years and ski every weekend from mid-December to mid-March including the week of Xmas, and winter break with my 3 boys ( I see alot of different weather ). I have also brought these gloves to Sun Valley, ID in January and Snowbird in UT in January over the years. I have never replaced the liners and have never had cold or wet fingers. Albeit, the liners have packed down quite a bit, but it took a couple of years for this to happen.

My son lost his Swanny gloves two weekends ago. These were great gloves too. So I bought him Black Diamonds which were delivered to Vermont this past Friday, 01-04-2013. Well, he found his Swanny's on Saturday at the house, but decided to try the BD's.

He used them all weekend, and has decided to make these his primary glove. They are great gloves and now my son also recommends them.

These are amazing on the cold days. Back mountain subzero days or worse they keep your hands toasty. Or, if you have poor circulation and need warm gloves, these are them. Super strong, super warm. If I could give six stars for one item it would be these.
