This down vest truly feels like it contains heating elements. My three Westies and I walk at least a couple of miles daily, both early A.M. and late night, here in northern FL where we may have eight below freezing nights a year, plus a dozen windy nights in the thirties. SIZE CAUTION: I ordered "Medium" same as flannel shirts I buy, but I could barely zip up wearing one shirt or sweat under my new vest. Same day it arrived, I asked Amazon to return and exchange it for a "large" which they promptly shipped BEFORE receiving my return. Plus zero shipping costs for the "swap". That's amazing. NOTE: "Large" fits me snugly with one sweat shirt under it and the snug fit feels great. (Yes, I also wear a padded jacket; size MEDIUM still fits comfortably.) But I'm in northern FL; if still up in CT where a couple of "sweats" might be better for arm warmth, probably XL would be better.

If you're like me and like to keep your core warm, but need or like your arms unrestricted, this is the down vest to have. I like the freedom of going inside and outside at any moment whilst keeping the vest on and always remaining warm. I normally wear XL in everything in shirts and jackets, but this XL was a bit wide as I wasnt planning on layering under it, but using it as a layer occaisionally. So I returned it (free exchange shipping) and got the Large...it fit perfect against my body to maximize the down comfort. Not cheap, but very recommended.
