MSR's Packsoap is an ultra-concentrated soap meant for all the needs of backpackers: washing oneself, one's clothes and dishes. One little bottle weighs little and goes a long way. One example of its economy is that one simple capful is enough to take the stink out of a whole pile of dirty trekking socks. The soap has no fragrance, and it is supposedly biodegradable. I've found it more than satisfactory for washing my skin, clothes and dishes.
However, I don't feel that this soap serves well as shampoo. My hair just doesn't feel clean after I've used Packsoap. Therefore, this product may be best for shorter treks (a week or 10 days), where you didn't plan on washing your hair anyway, instead of being a longterm solution on the trail.
