I now own this sweater in both black and the plum color. I normally wear a size 10-12 and wear a 36D bra size . I often times buy sweaters in a size large. Not this sweater! After buying and returning both the large and the medium sizes I was very happy with the fit of the size small. I'm 5 foot 3" and the medium was far too big on my shorter frame. The small is actually still very roomy! I was even tempted to try this sweater in an extra small! I did find the black seemed to have a roomier fit than the plum. But despite the size variation between colors both fit me perfectly in a size small. The fabric is so soft, wears incredibly well and is amazingly warm and snuggly. Be careful to hand wash in cold water and dry flat.I've read other reviewers made the mistake of machine washing and tumble-drying...which will ruin this sweater. Buy this with confidence.. but size way down! I also bought the Prana willow duster.. another gorgeous sweater!

I wish I had listened to some of the reviews that stated this sweater is over-sized! I wear a size 10 or 12 depending on the style and I'm returning the large and ordering a small (a size I almost never can wear due to my size D chest). I'm 5'3", 135 pounds and I could have fit two of me in the size large! The fabric is gorgeous, the construction looks good and the style is very nice... I hope the small works for me. My advice to buyers~ SIZE UP.. especially if you're petite! And just as a side-note, dealing with some of the sellers on Amazon are not as easy as others. I wasn't able to do an exchange, one of the things I usually really like about Amazon.
update: after owning this sweater (in a size small) for about a month and wearing it DAILY I've changed my rating to 5 stars. It wears beautifully...pet hair barely shows on it due to the blending of white within the black knit and it's so soft. I just ordered a second color. Size way down but buy this sweater...you won't regret it. It never makes me feel hot yet keeps me very warm. remarkable fabric. I normally wash my sweaters after wearing them once or twice. I washed this sweater for the first time yesterday. It just never looks wrinkly or dirty! Best cardigan ever...and that's coming from a sweater snob:)

this could be the one. It is so soft and comfortable, slightly fitted, nice deep pockets, warm and good looking. I liked this sweater so much I got one for my daughter, one for my best friend and one for myself. High priced for my budget, but worth it. The black is sort of speckled with grey, in other words it's not a pure black. The light blue and the plum are similarly "heathered". The one thing that surprised me was a slightly sloppy weave in places. But you have to look pretty hard to find it. Nothing that would bother me, but if you expect total uniformity, it might be off-putting given the price tag. Then again, I must have a dozen less expensive sweaters that I rarely wear. I have pretty much lived in this one. You can machine wash, but reviews caution against machine drying. All in all, it's a lovely sweater, and I would recommend.

I saw this sweater in a store 2 years ago and have wanted one ever since. Finally got it and it lives up to all my expectations. This cardigan is soft, warm and fits great.
