Its very hot in Arizona, & yes, you still sweat in a dry climate A LOT!
So this shirt with the nearly full back mesh panel, and mesh side openings of the back large vent openings really works here (the mesh areas are covered with the shirt material so this isn't an "only" mesh back shirt didn't want to give that impression).
I can't say enough about this shirt, its the only one I've ever bought that kept me cool & dry here, & the shirt stays dry & doesn't stick to you. And, when a breeze catches you from the side, the back of the shirt will billow a little, & let that nice breeze in thru the mesh sides!
I've tried the coolmax, omni freeze zero, etc, those stick to me & don't let any real breeze in. Nothing, nothing, works as well as this shirt, in the Arizona climate.
I think the sizing is true to fit, but for the best cooling effect, you might want to consider buying so the shirt is loose (lets more air in).
It has a upper left zipper pocket that is big enough to fit 2 iphones in. I like the zipper pocket better than the bellows type pockets, as the bellows wrinkle & the flaps curl up, if you don't iron them. The zipper is nice too, as things don't fall out of it.
It looks nice too (like a real shirt, not a camping/ hiking shirt). Altho, this is my main hiking/ backpacking shirt, nothing comes close. I wear these shirts everyday, & have 3 of them (& going to get more too). It doesn't shrink, & is wrinkle resistant. (I wash it in essentially warm water, altho I have the washing machine set on cold water. But, in the AZ summer, what comes out of the house cold water tap is pretty warm, anyway).
Ex-Officio has many similar sounding shirts, so make sure you get the "Dryfly Flex" version. Ex-Officio got it right this time.

I ordered a Medium, and for the first time in a long time the whole shirt was too big. Typically either the neck, chest, or both are too small while the arms are too long so I end up having to settle with the fit. With this shirt, the neck, chest, and arms were all too long so I assume if I order a small everything will fit right. Sizing aside, the back has a sort of breathable net/mesh which is nice since typically the back is where I tend to sweat on these shirts. The overall comfort and material is nice, comfortable, and breathable for hot summer days while retaining the look for a casual. I would typically expect to sacrifice breath-ability or comfort for the look.I am a bit upset that this shirt jumped about $25 in price since ordering it 3 or 4 days ago. I ordered a medium, it didn't fit, returned it and was going to order a Small, but when I went back to the page the price went up over a 3rd of the cost.
