Well this is my first Sierra Designs product and I am very pleased with it. I'm 6', 185#, 43" chest and the Large fits well. Not tight and not real loose, seems like it is perfect for layering over or under as required. It has thumbholes and a few pockets and a stuff sack. It is 800fill down so I'm not sure if there is a finer quality down available commercially, but 800 is amazingly warm, breathable and light. The jacket moves very well with your body and does not bunch or restrict, very comfortable. The sleeves are way long enough for me, and I have very long arms, a man with normal reach will have more than enough length. I was struck with the lightness of the piece, truly just ounces. The seams and construction are top notch, and the outer material is very light but gives a fairly durable impression. Very well designed in my opinion. I haven't tested the water resistant DriDown technology, but it is nice to know it's there. In summary, after seeing the video on the molecular treatment of the down, noting all of the Gear of the Year awards from all of my favorite publications and talking with the REI and Backcountry gear experts I was sold. Now after using it for several months I'm still just as enthusiastic about it. Sierra Designs is a local company for me so I was happy to support them and after using this jacket I will definitely explore their other products.

Good jacket. Men's small fits me (5'8" and 140 lbs) like a glove. My only problem with the jacket is that every time I wear it, it leaks a dozen or so feathers. Enough to draw your attention to it. I'm slightly concerned about the wisdom of compressing the jacket much, since it already leaks down.

I got this jacket without having to wait too long. My wife got the same jacket for women's which fits her really well, but for her case, I think the jacket may need some TLC especially near areas that compress because she experienced some migrating feathers. These plumes were hard to push back in. My jacket is doing fine, no feathers escaping but it also isn't a daily wear. The jacket is lightweight and the temperature range is wider than my fleece which tends to get too warm. The stuff sack is a nice touch along with the thumb loops in the sleeves.

jacket is very warm and has a comfortable fit. have not used it during any outdoor adventures yet but have no doubt it will perform well. you can tell the down is high quality and compresses nicely. i washed it along with another non-dridown jacket and there is an obvious difference between the two when they are soaking wet. the dridown jacket dries faster and still holds some thickness when wet. it's obviously not waterproof, but is not meant to be. i'm looking to buy a dridown sleeping bag based on how well the jacket performs in wet conditions.
