I needed a belt for when I carried my pistol and chose the 5.11 basketweave after looking at other options (riggers belt) and other brands. I decided on this belt for two primary reasons: first the reviews all said it was a great belt for IWB and OWB carry (my intended reason for purchasing), and the belt itself looked dressy enough that I could wear it to work, out with my wife, or to a nice event and not have it stick out like a sore thumb.

Out of the box this belt is STIFF as heck. You can't twist it like a cheap leather belt, and it has retained this rigidity after 10 months of everyday wearing. I'll carry a sidearm, extra magazines, a flashlight, and a knife on this belt with almost no problems. I've found the belt is a bit too thick for the Sig Sauer magazine pouches I bought a little while ago, but that is the only brand I've had problems with. Because the belt is so stiff, it keeps everything where I want it. I'm somewhere between a 40 and a 42 inch waist and I bought the XL size. It's big on me, but I'm ok with that.

I have 2 small complaints. First, in the part of the belt where your back is, 5.11 added a handcuff key pouch. This pouch would catch when trying to get the belt looped through a magazine pouch with belt loops. I ended up cutting the handcuff key pouch off. Problem solved. My second small complaint is in the area where I tent to carry my magazine pouches, the black leather has rubbed off somehow, and there was a white color showing through a black sharpie fixed that. Neither are deal breakers and both were easily remedied.

Overall I am very satisfied with the quality and construction of this belt. If you need a dressy belt but still need to carry a sidearm and all the other components that go with that, consider this belt to be your #1 choice.

I was skeptical to buy this belt buy now I do not regret my decision. The basket weave appearance adds style yet the structure of this belt provides the support needed for whatever. This is a supreme tactical belt. I wear 42 size pants so I bought an XL belt, but I could only get into the first notch with an uncomfortable fit so I returned for a larger size up (something to keep in mind). Do not hesitate to buy this belt, I bought this to wear at my position for the Florida Department of Corrections as a correctional officer. This belt projects a professional image.

This is a really nice belt! Quality leather and ample sized so that there is enough overlap to tuck it in. Nice and stiff so that the accessories, gun, knives, etc. don't make it sag. Comfortable too. It took a few hours of wear for it to start breaking-in but it wasn't uncomfortable at all--and it keeps getting better. I bought two so that I would have a backup, because nothing wears out leather faster than continuous wear while it is wet with perspiration. So I change out every day, and I believe these will be the last belts I will have to buy. High quality and a reasonable price! can't beat that!
