Although I can't give this a full review, as I have just ordered and recived the jacket now, roughly 6 months before season (getting prepaired) I cant comment on how it performs in the field, but this jacket does exceed my expectations. I thought it would just be a thin jacket but it is pretty substantial. It closely resembles a snowboarding jacket if you take out the liner. I usually wear a size XL jacket, but took a chance and got the 2XL because im planning on layering a bit, and I was lucky it fits great. To sum it up i would say this is a great jacket, would give it a 5/5 but like I said haven't been able to use it. Also the waist in the pic. looks like it is just free flowing... if that makes sense, but it acctually has a waist like the columbia fleeces which is really nice so you can sinch it up.

I have been looking for a lightweight rainjacket for duck hunting because I am tired of buying expensive 4-n-1 jackets and just using the outer shell and never using the heavyweight liner. This jacket went on sale for one heck of a discount so I picked 3 of them up. I bought two XLs and one large. I got the XL jackets first and they seemed a little large in the sleeves (not in length, just alot of loose material hanging from the arms). I ordered a Large just to see if they fit me better and that large doesn't seem to be quite big enough to layer under, but I kept both sizes to use one in warm weather, the other size in cold weather (the 3rd jacket is a different pattern for timber). I will wear while occasional chasing a few deer too, so I was a little worried about the noisy fabric that was found in the reviews, but I don't think its too horrible. The material is really soft and seems like it will hang up on thorns and burrs and such though. For sizing comparison, I am 6' and 190#s.

I paid $60 for jacket and pants. That is a BARGAIN for this gear. I use for hunting and salmon fishing on lake Michigan. Keeps me dry and I even use on colder days as a wind breaker. I havent use in a complete down pour but did use in steady soaking rain on cool day on lake and it kept me dry and warm. Good quality gear.

It's a great outer layer. Not a good winter jacket by itself. Light weight. Blocks wind well. Made winter power outages more bearable.

This jacket is somewhat big for medium size, but it's good when you already layer up and only use this jacket for rain protection. I like the Max-1 camouflage style. I only give it 3 stars because it does not meet my expectations.

After 2 hours on a downpour hunt, water began to penetrate my clothes. I would not be a good jacket to take out for a hunt lasting a couple of days. If you do go out for more than a day's hunt, be prepare to bring an extra rain jacket because this one will not keep you dry.
